Joan Lunden's Personal Life, A Story Of The Television Personality's Two Weddings And Seven Children

Joan Lunden is well-known for her work on television. She has been hosting a show titled Second Opinion for the last five years. Joan worked on KCRA-TV in the beginning, joining as the co-anchor of a noon news program. Her career took a different turn when she became a feature news and consumer reporter for Good Morning America in 1976. Joan joined David Hartman as a co-host a few years later and reported for multiple events from 1980. Joan Lunden had three children from her first marriage to Michael A. Krauss

Joan Lunden and Michael A. Krauss’ first meeting reportedly dates back to the ‘70s. The latter was serving as a producer in the media during that period, and Joan converted to Judaism before exchanging vows with Michael. For the unversed, Michael A. Krauss was active on television and radio for many years. He had many shows to his credit as a producer, including Good Morning America. Furthermore, Michael A. Krauss wrote two books, Your Newborn Baby: Everything You Need To Know and Joan Lunden’s Mother’s Minutes.

Joan Lunden and Michael A. Krauss were married for 14 years from 1978 to 1992. Joan and Michael welcomed a daughter named Jamie Beryl Krauss in 1980. Three years later, in 1983, the duo had another child, Lindsay Leigh Krauss, followed by a third child, Sarah Emily Krauss, in 1987. Notably, Joan Lunden had just started her career at Good Morning America when she was expecting her first child. Joan ensured to have child-care clauses under her contract, following which she received some facilities, including breastfeeding one of her daughters.

In an interview with Parents Magazine in 1981, Joan said that she wanted to be near her child when she was not working, and in that case, she never cared anything about the money she was earning. Joan admitted that she had to handle her job responsibilities and always felt pressured to rush to her home and be with her daughter.

Joan Lunden has been married to Jeff Konigsberg for more than 20 years

Joan Lunden met her second husband, Jeff Konigsberg, in 1996, four years after her split from Michael A. Krauss. Joan once recalled in an interview with Motherhood Later that her close friends were trying to fix dates for her with some businessmen. However, Joan’s choice was something else as she wanted a person who would be less bothered about his upcoming deal. Joan said that she was searching for an individual who would be present for her and her children.

Joan Lunden was having lunch at a deli when she saw Jeff Konigsberg for the first time. Joan said that Jeff approached her, saying that he knew her and was supposed to have dinner at her residence in Hampton after being invited by a friend. Although Jeff said that he could not attend the dinner, he invited Joan to dinner. This marked the beginning of a new romance as the pair exchanged vows in April 2000. They had two children named Kate and Max, in 2003. The couple had two more children, Jack and Kim, through surrogacy in 2005.

Jeff Konigsberg has been the owner of Camp Takajo for Boys and Tripp Lake Camp for Girls. Jeff is also the founding member of a premium summer camp group called Maine Camp Experience. The group aims to teach the best practices that need to be followed while working in the field of camping.
