Bigg Boss OTT 2 is coming up with newer entertainment and spices for its viewers with every new episode. The contestants are getting involved with each other immensely. In addition, the fans are learning many such revelations from the contestants' lives, which would have been otherwise kept away from the media glares. One such instance was seen in the latest episode of the reality TV show when the Ved actress, Jiya Shankar opened up about her broken family.
In the latest episode of Bigg Boss OTT 2, Jiya Shankar was seen choosing Avinash Sachdev during a nomination round and later got into a tiff with him. Afterwards, Abhishek Malhan was seen discussing with her to make her understand that she did wrong by nominating a good friend. However, Jiya was of the opinion that she wants to play the game for herself and is in extreme need of it. She was seen getting teary-eyed and said, “Nobody has lived the life that I’ve." To this, Abhishek was seen consoling her by saying:
“On an individual basis you took the right call. However, you should think from a friendship point of view. Both Avinash and Jad trusted you a lot and you doing this ended everything between you guys.”

But Jiya opened up about her broken family and revealed that living with a single mother is not easy. She revealed facing many difficulties throughout her life without a father figure. Not only this, she also mentioned having no brother. She said, "I don’t have a dad and it’s not easy to live with a single mom. I’ve no male in my family, not even a brother. It’s just me and my mom. Things related to Jad affect me because he calls himself my father figure which he isn’t.” On the other hand, while Jad expressed anger and said, “This isn’t something I expected of her as we share a great bond. She didn’t only betray me but also questioned my fatherhood responsibilities. She is a snake, and I’ll never forgive her ever”, Avinash too mentioned:
"This is so unexpected. Tell me what have I not done for her. I know that she is a very emotional person and I’ve done everything according to her.”

In a candid interview with Pinkvilla, Jiya Shankar revealed that she was molested by her family doctor when she was a kid. Recalling the horrifying incident, the actress mentioned how the person took advantage of her after he came to know about her parents' separation. Elaborating on the incident, she said it was the most disturbing thing in her life. Afterwards, when the actress went to the police station to file a complaint, she was repeatedly asked about the details of the incident.
