Abhishek Malhan and Jiya Shankar's dating buzz began when they were in Bigg Boss OTT 2. The couple's chemistry was so strong that their fans started to ship them in real-life as well. Abhishek and Jiya, even though the latter seemed to have some liking towards him, later clarified that there was nothing romantic going on between them, except for friendship.
A few months later, the duo also stated that their friendship had ended. In 2024, Jiya Shankar took to her social media and hit back at the 'fake PRs', while dismissing the speculations about her dating Abhishek Malhan. In the post, she also added that she had nothing to do with Fukra Insaan, and the friendship had come to an end.
Last year, speculation was rife that Abhishek Malhan would be engaged to Jiya. Later, Abhishek took to his social media handle and clarified that there was no truth to the buzz. Abhishek further revealed that he had made it clear that he didn't want to be linked to anybody, as the show ended years ago, and so did his choices and stance. An excerpt from his caption could be read as:
"I want to make one thing very clear, please stop linking my name with anyone. I was part of the show three years ago, and that chapter ended there. My choices and stance were made very clear back then and nothing has changed since."
