When the emergency crew arrived, Jessi and Mike's home was consumed in flames, according to the White Bear Fire Department.

It had spoken about how she and Mike had faced a financial crunch despite her having a respectable job in the sports media. "In less than 1 week my husband & I went from having a combined 4 paying jobs to make ends meet, to having just one following his layoff today. Yeah. This all kind of sucks. Stay strong out there everyone. And stay kind to one another. Hardships are plentiful right now."

A report by the Hindustan Times revealed that a fundraising campaign was launched to support Jessi Pierce's husband, Mike Hinrichs. He was reportedly not at home and was away on a business trip when the fire occurred. The GoFundMe had raised around USD 66,692, and the target was USD 80,000. On one hand, the full National Hockey League family sent prayers and condolences to Mike and the Pierce family. The funding platform had shared:

"It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of Jessi Hinrichs (Pierce), her three children, and their family dog. Jessi had a larger-than-life personality and an even bigger heart. She was devoted to her family, going above and beyond to create many moments of joy and everlasting memories."

Funds are being raised to cover Jessi Pierce and her kids' funeral expenses

The page further revealed that Jessi's kids had unique personalities and Jessi was known to love life and adventure in general. The devastating loss has left Mike with a difficult time as he grieves over the loss of his wife and children. The funds are reportedly being raised to cover funeral expenses and to provide financial support for the family during this period of grief.

Well, the report further revealed that the GoFundMe page was made by a person called, Diana Johnson Salvador. Although the relation she has with Pierce is not at all clear. Jessi was known to be a dedicated mom. Jessi had once revealed having mom guilt as it was not easy to be a woman in hockey, apart from being a mother and also a great reporter. In an interview with ESPN's Linda Cohn, Jessi shared:

"There's such a mom guilt, right? I've got three little ones, and I have this dream at the same time. But for so long, I have put that [dream] first," she told Linda. "And then I think you and I spoke last summer... and it's totally shape-shifted how I've done everything. And it's great, because the kids can come to some of these events. I go cover Da Beauty League [and] they can go run around and watch hockey, and Mom can still work. So I'm trying to integrate both, but it's a challenge."
