Jennifer Aniston's Boyfriend, Jim Curtis Reveals How He Met The 'FRIENDS' Star, 'It Took A Long...'

Actress, Jennifer Aniston and her current boyfriend, Jim Curtis, have captured headlines several times since they were linked in July 2025. While the duo usually keeps their romance as low-key as possible, Jim, in a rare occurrence, has finally opened up about his relationship with the F.R.I.E.N.D.S star. For the unversed, Jim is a renowned hypnotherapist and health and wellness expert. On Monday, January 26, 2026, he appeared on the Today show to promote his work and his new book, The Book of Possibility. While the conversation mainly focused on Jim's personal life, host, Craig Melvin sneakily slipped in a few questions about his private life with Jennifer Aniston.  

Jim Curtis on how he and Jennifer Aniston first crossed paths  

2025 was a great year for Jennifer Aniston, as after being single for a long time, she found love with her hypnotherapist boyfriend, Jim Curtis. While speculations had been rife since last year about how the duo met, now we finally know how it all began, thanks to Jim's latest appearance on the Today show. Although Jim went there to promote his new book, host, Craig Melvin, representing all of us curious viewers, did not let Jim off the hook until he spilt the details on how and when his romance with Jennifer began. While one might think that they had a grand Hollywood meet-cute, Jim revealed that that was far from the case.

Calling it their “origin story”, Jim confessed that mutual friends introduced them and “that's it.” Realising they had mutual friends, Jim and Jennifer naturally began chatting. He emphasised that their connection wasn't instantaneous but rather something which developed gradually. “It took a long time, we chatted for a long time, and we became close,” Jim shared, which further suggested that his relationship with Jennifer Aniston is one based on friendship before things turned romantic.  

Following this, host, Craig Melvin pressed Jim Curtis about how long he has been together with The Morning Show star, to which the latter intentionally gave a vague answer. Although he did not reveal the exact date or time he started dating Jennifer, he did say they have been going strong for a while now. He said: 

"A long time, months now, almost close to a year." 

Noticing how much Jim Curtis was blushing throughout their entire conversation, host, Craig Melvin jokingly said that he won't put him “on the spot anymore.” To this, Jim responded honestly, confessing, “Okay, yeah, I sure am [blushing].”

Jennifer Aniston and Jim Curtis went Instagram official in November 2025, when the actress posted a loved-up photo showing her wrapping her arms around her boyfriend. For those unaware, Jennifer posted the picture on the occasion of Jim's birthday with the caption, “Happy birthday my love cherished,” followed by a red heart emoji. Now, according to reports, in early January 2026, a source close to the couple said that Jennifer had a great end to 2025 and “feels really good about where things are with Jim.” The insider further added:  

"She’s excited about this new year and what’s ahead, especially with Jim by her side now. Jen’s always been fine on her own and comfortable being single, but her relationship with Jim is just different. She’s very happy and comfortable. He’s just so sweet and supportive of her. He makes her everyday life better."
