According to reports, the pair is going their separate ways after nearly a decade of marriage. Jelly and Bunnie first crossed paths in 2015. Next year, in 2016, they secretly tied the knot in Las Vegas. The former couple renewed their vows in 2023. It was Jelly who filed for divorce from Bunnie and cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the cause behind their split.

According to the new legal documents obtained by TMZ, Jelly cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for their split. He filed the divorce petition on May 18, 2026. The country singer listed the date of marriage as August 30, 2016, and the date of separation as May 9, 2026. Jelly and Bunnie’s separation was unexpected because they often showed their love and relationship in public.

In February 2026, Jelly Roll won Best Contemporary Country Album at the 2026 Grammy Awards. While accepting the award, the country singer got emotional and expressed his gratitude to his wife, Bunnie. Jelly highlighted that he could never change his life without Bunnie. He was quoted as saying:

"I want to thank my beautiful wife. I would have never changed my life without you. I would have ended up dead or in jail. I would have killed myself if it wasn't for you and Jesus. I thank you for that."

Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO had a tumultuous married life

In the early years of their marriage, Jelly and Bunnie navigated ups and downs in their relationship. In October 2025, Jelly shared that cheating on his wife, Bunnie XO, was one of the worst moments of his adulthood. Elaborating on the following, the country singer said on the Human School podcast, "I wish our story would’ve gone in the way that it never had an affair, and I’m way glad it happened, but man, I’m proud of who we are today."

Sharing her side of the story, Bunnie revealed in her 2026 memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, that Jelly had cheated on her for 10 months in 2018. In an interview with People, Bunnie mentioned that many people asked her why she didn’t leave Jelly. In response, Bunnie added that she did leave him, but as she loved him, she gave him a second chance. She said:

"A lot of people are like, 'Why didn't you leave?' And I'm like, 'I did leave.' I did leave him and we were split for about 30 days. But I just loved that man so much that I just really, truly believe that he deserved a second chance."

In a February 2026 interview with People, Bunnie got candid about her IVF journey. She opened up about the challenges that come with IVF. She believed that the abortions she had earlier and her IVF journey were connected in some way. Explaining it in detail, she said:

"I don't know if it's that I did or if I didn't choose it, but I think before we come here, we choose our life path, and we yearn for the pain that we go through. And I genuinely think that having those abortions when I was younger, and the journey that I'm going on now with IVF, is God's putting me through this again, so that I can be a voice for those women who are going through this process."
