Jayden Adams' Partner Shared Sweet Note For South African Footballer Weeks Before His Death, 'Proud'

In a tragic piece of news, it was revealed that South African midfielder, Jayden Adams has passed away. The news of his death has left fans in shock, as he had played at the 2026 FIFA World Cup just a few weeks before. Jayden was considered one of the most promising talents of his country. While the football community mourns his passing, a post made by Jayden’s partner with a loving message, just weeks before his death, has surfaced.

As we mentioned, Jayden Adams had been competing in the World Cup for South Africa weeks before his death. And ahead of the national team’s arrival in the US, the athlete’s partner, Aqueelah Adendorf showed her support for him. It is worth mentioning that this was South Africa’s first World Cup appearance in 16 years. 

In a May 27, 2026, Instagram post, Aqueelah wrote, “Watching you achieve something this big has filled my heart with so much pride.” In the post, which came a little under two weeks before South Africa took on Mexico during the group stage of the global soccer competition, she added:

“From the hard work, sacrifices, early mornings, disappointments, and moments nobody saw — you kept going, stayed disciplined, and trusted God through it all. And now look at you…representing your country on the national team.”

Aqueelah went on to gush about Jayden, calling him inspiring. According to her, he deserved every single moment of this because he never gave up on his dream and constantly worked hard for it. Noting how proud she was of him, Aqueelah wrote:

“I don’t think you even realise how inspiring you are. You deserve every single moment of this because I’ve seen how much you’ve worked for it. Through every challenge, you never gave up on your dream, and that alone makes me so proud to stand beside you and support you through it all.”

After it was revealed that Jayden Adams had passed away, Aqueelah took to her Instagram handle to share another tribute for her late partner with whom she shared a 5-year-old daughter. She also thanked all of their friends and family for their support during this difficult time in an additional Instagram Stories post. In the heartfelt message, she wrote:

“There are no words to describe the pain I’m feeling. Rest in peace, my love. Thank you for every memory, every laugh, every hug, and every moment we shared. You were not only the love of my life but also my greatest supporter and my best friend. A part of my heart left with you, and I will carry your love with me forever. Until we meet again, I’ll miss you every single day. Rest easy, my angel. I love you always and forever.”

Reacting to her post, a fan wrote, “My deepest prayers and condolences. May Jesus take him to paradise. Rest in peace Jayden.” Another wrote, “My condolences Angel, sending you such love and praying for peace and strength for you during this difficult time.” A third user penned, “There are no words that can ease this pain. Sending you healing, love, and light. May God give you strength and surround you with his peace. My sincere condolences.”

Jayden Adams began his soccer career at Stellenbosch FC, becoming the first player to sign a professional contract with them in August 2020. During the 2026 World Cup, all of the three matches that South Africa played were in the group stage. After his sudden demise, a number of local South African figures paid their tribute to him.
