In Bollywood and telly land, actors work with each other for months and years together. Spending their time with each other both on the sets and off the sets, naturally makes them attracted to each other. Recently, talking to the Hindustan Times, Jasmin had shared that she would never date an actor. The 28-year-old actress was quoted as saying, “When I was a model, I met someone. I don’t want to name the person. But things did not go well. I was new and could not understand what was happening. But I have learnt my lesson. I will not date any actor for sure”.
And it seems that her word is her bond as her social media pictures speak of a similar tale. Apparently, she is rumoured to be dating a guy named, Suraj Wadhwa who is clearly not a celebrity actor. Jasmin is currently in Argentina where she is shooting for Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 9 and that's why she couldn't be with him on his special day. Yes, it is Suraj’s birthday today and in a kiss-emoticon-filled post, Jasmin shared the following picture with her rumoured beau and wrote, “Happy birthday @surajwadhwa. I wish I could be there with you to celebrate today because you are so special to me, it feels really sad to be away from you today. May you get everything that you wish for Suraj, I miss you and want you to be happy always”.
Last year, when Jasmin was going through depression, it was Suraj Wadhwa who helped her get out of that phase. She had revealed then, “I want to thank Suraj my friend, because this one year was a roller coaster ride for me, personally as well as professionally, and he was there for me. I was at the verge of going into depression and couldn't make decisions. I didn't know how to deal with so many things, all happening at the same time. Suraj understood me, guided and helped me deal with everything in a great way”.
When she was asked by a media portal if she is dating Suraj, she quipped, “No one is supposed to know about my personal life because that is supposed to be kept private. I am single till I don’t have a ring on my finger. When it’s the right time for me to commit to someone for life, I’ll talk about it”. In another interview, she had revealed that she and Suraj are only friends. She was quoted as saying, “People even started writing about me and Suraj (Wadhwa). Can’t a boy and a girl be friends? Can’t I go out on holidays with my friends? Like everyone else I also enjoy spending time with my friends. At this point, I want to concentrate only on my career and there is no time for love. When love happens I won’t shy away from sharing”.
During her interview with HT, she had revealed her reasons of not dating an actor and had said, “You get exhausted, there is no time to spend with family or friends and all this leads to mood swings. So, it would be really difficult for me to be with someone from the fraternity because he’ll have the same problems I have. We won’t be able to talk about anything besides the fraternity”.
On being asked to comment on celebrity marriages which usually do not last long, Jasmin had retorted, “Marriages break everywhere but because we are in the show business, it becomes news. In a marriage, two people try to make it work, and when that doesn’t happen, it ends. It has nothing to do with your profession. I think rather than being unhappy with somebody, being alone and happy is better”.
How should her dream man be like? To this, she answered, “He should be a person full of positivity, hope and someone who’d become my strength. I think we all should be career-oriented. I believe your career is one of the few things that stay with you forever. It also gives you the confidence to lead a happy life”.
