When we were young, we all dreamt of being millions of things when we grow up! But one thing was sure that we never wanted to be a replica of our parents when we were in our teens. However, the moment we stepped into the world of adults, we realised that our parents are the perfect role model, and then comes a day when we proudly step into their shoes. We quote them and follow their work ethics and often we end up saying that we have learnt it all from our parents. And Bollywood actress, Janhvi Kapoor has yet again proved that she is just like her late mother, Sridevi. Janhvi Kapoor is the daughter of a filmmaker, Boney Kapoor and late legendary actress, Sridevi Kapoor. The 22-year-old starlet made her acting debut with Dhadak and everyone instantly fell in love with her. There have been several occasions when Janhvi has reminded us of her mother, Sridevi. She reflects the same aura and charm that the late actress, Sridevi had possessed. It was at the start of 2018 when Janhvi's world crumbled with the sudden demise of her mother, Sridevi. And while we know that nothing can ever fill the void, the young actress' will of staying positive in all circumstances proves that Sridevi has given her the right values.
Recently, Janhvi was invited on Rajeev Masand's show, wherein she talked about various aspects of her life, the legacy of her parents which she is taking forward and the effect of being a star kid. She shared that she doesn't take her mother's legacy lightly and said that she thinks of it as a responsibility. Her mother, in particular, had gotten so much love and appreciation from the audience. As a consequence of which she has also gotten similar kind of love.
Janhvi further shared that she has learnt the art of 'working hard' from her mother, Sridevi. She shared that she doesn’t think it is possible, for anyone, let alone her to be like the legendary actress. However, her intention with her work is the same. The kind of hard work shehad put in, has been inculcated in Janhvi too, by DNA, and conditioning. She concluded on the note that she is not vying for stardom but rather she is here to do good work.
Janhvi resonates her mother in every way. Last year, on Diwali 2019, Janhvi had donned a white saree and had looked like an exact carbon copy of her mother. The Dhadak actress had teamed it with a strappy blouse and had kept her look subtle with statement jhumkas and highlighted makeup. In an interview with the Vogue magazine, Janhvi had revealed that her mother never wanted her to be an actress. She had said that her mother never thought her elder daughter was made for the world of glam and glitz. Janhvi was quoted as saying, "She never wanted me to be an actress. She was more relaxed about Khushi getting into films. She thought I was naïve, that I wasn’t thick-skinned enough. She wanted us to live a more relaxed life. She loved what she did but you know it was intense."
The actress had further revealed in the same interview of how her mother used to narrate her stories from her career in the ‘80s and ‘90s, and had stated, “Those were my bedtime stories. Her whacked-out experiences. You know, in the ’80s and ’90s, when actors would do multiple shifts working simultaneously on different films? So she was doing three movies with the same director, who was also the actor. They were in Ooty and he decided to shoot songs for all three films together. He’d do a scene, then cut and walk to the next location and the entire cast and crew would follow. At one point, he does a shot, starts walking and, suddenly, he’s behind a tree taking a piss, and the entire cast and crew is there, watching. He was just walking, and everyone assumed they were going to the next location! Mum was in all the films, and she’d figure out which film they were shooting for by his wigs, which would change for each role."
