It was an unfortunate morning on February 24, 2018, when internet and people’s chaos woke everyone up. Legendary actress, Sridevi Kapoor had passed away in Dubai. And ever since Sridevi’s demise, Boney Kapoor’s children from his first wife- Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor, who earlier did not share cordial terms with their father’s second family, have been shadowing their baby sisters like how and their recent bonding knows no bounds!
Be it Janhvi or Arjun, this half-sibling pair have never failed to praise each other in interviews. The recent one had Janhvi getting all candid with Filmfare. Finally revealing how and when they started relying on Arjun and Anshula, the Dhadak star stated, “It comes from seeking a sense of protection. A significant figure in our lives- my mother- wasn’t there anymore. Whom could we rely on? So, Khushi and I found ourselves leaning on them. A strong trust was forged between us. They’re so chilled out, such gracious and strong people, who encourage you and are real with you. We’re blessed.”
The Takht actress also shared about the kind of advices she gets from her star family, “Arjun bhaiyya has given me advice on everything that comes with this profession. He’s gained a plethora of experience. His advice is to remain honest. He says if you love your work, then you just need to keep reminding yourself about that love and nothing else.” The 21-year-old also shared that his star sister, Sonam K Ahuja has been an exemplar of self-respect and chachu Anil Kapoor always advices them to work hard. At yet another interview during the promotions of Janhvi’s debut film, Dhadak, she spoke about what Arjun and Anshula means to them. She had shared, “The only reason we can stand strong after whatever happened is because of the kind of love and support Arjun bhaiyya and Anshula didi [half-siblings] have been giving us [she and her younger sister, Khushi]. It’s a family dynamic that I relish. I am very thankful for them. I couldn’t have asked for a better brother and a better sister. They have given us a lot of strength. He is a very wise man and has given tips like, ‘just be honest, be yourself and be respectful towards people.’ Somehow, when he says it, I take it like the gospel truth.”
In an interview with Vogue, Janhvi shared about how their family united after Sridevi’s death. She had revealed, “It’s made us feel safe and secure. I think, even for Papa, it’s a source of comfort. It’s definitely tied us together. We’ve lost mom and I don’t think that’s a loss any of us will ever get over.” She further went to say that her mother was a constant inspiration for her, “That’s always been my motivation. I’m so proud of my parents. I need to make them as proud of me.”
When Arjun and Anshula first heard of Sridevi’s demise, do you know what they said? The doting bade bhaiyya, Arjun stated, “It took me a lot of courage to ask Anshula, "I think this is the right thing, what do you feel? It was 2 am in the morning and when I told her, the first thing she asked was, "Where are the girls?"” (Red On! Further revealing what made him gel with Janhvi, Arjun revealed, “But you don't have that person that you wanna come back home and share it with and you want to be vulnerable and you want to be normal with. So, now you have to be sorted when you're not sorted at all. I think that is the connection that I had with her the most. I have spoken more to her (Janhvi) about it because we did have this ability to bond over. My heart went out to her because I know how that vacuum feels. It's like I was living it again and my heart used to break every time because it's a bittersweet journey.”
Arjun-Anshula-Janhvi-Khushi are pure goals, aren’t they? We wish that their bond gets stronger with each passing day!
