A surge of shock had engulfed the whole nation on February 24, 2018, when the news of the legendary actress, Sridevi's unfortunate demise had broken out. The demise of Sridevi had created a void in the Kapoor family that can never be filled. We had always seen Sridevi being accompanied by her daughter, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor and our hearts had felt their pain, wondering how the girls will deal with the loss of their mother. However, Janhvi and Khushi have been maintaining a brave stance, yet their heart still belongs to their mother, Sridevi.
While scrolling through our IG handle, we got a glimpse of how Janhvi keeps her parents closest to her heart. We got a hold of a video shared by a fan page, where we can see Janhvi amidst the paparazzi, trying to take her pictures, while she was in her gym wear. In this throwback video, as Janhvi steps into her car, one can clearly see Janhvi’s phone wallpaper, which is an unseen picture of her parents, Boney Kapoor and Sridevi. With the pandemic lockdown, Janhvi too had got the time to spend with father, Boney Kapoor and sister, Khushi Kapoor as otherwise, she is always on the go. The lockdown had made her realise that people of the family depend on her a lot more since her mom, Sridevi’s demise. In an interview with the Filmfare, Janhvi Kapoor had opened up on becoming the lady of the house post her mother, Sridevi’s demise and had remarked, “I don’t think I have become the lady of the house because I'm very childish. But during this lockdown, I'm understanding how much people at home depend on me a lot more. Because I haven't been home this much for the past 2 years. Now all of sudden I'm keeping track of what Papa is eating, or why Khushi is sleeping so long, and how they are going to get vegetables and if they are sanitizing everything properly or what the protocols are. I was thinking If I wasn't here I don't know what would have been happening. I think they would have managed. In her first ever formal interview with the Vogue, post her mother’s death, Janhvi had talked about how she wanted to make her parents proud through her work. She had said, “I am so proud of my parents. I need to make them as proud of me. That has always been my motivation. I want mine to be ‘the debut’. But it comes from an honest and sincere place. Mum always told me, it’s not about the kind of role or movie you do; you need to make an impression- that’s an actor’s job. She never encouraged jealousy or frustration.
