When the star cast for the movie, Dhadak was introduced, we couldn’t wait for the release of the film as we wanted to witness the on-screen chemistry of the new faces, Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor. Janhvi had made her debut with the movie, Dhadak and it was during the shooting of the same movie that the rumours about the duo dating each other sparked. During the shoot of the movie, Kapoors had to go through a painful incident where they lost one of the important family members and it was Janhvi’s mother, Sridevi ji. Janhvi was devasted after the incident and when she had resumed the shoot for her debut movie, it was her co-star and friend, Ishaan who had helped her to overcome the loss.
More than Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter’s on-screen chemistry, it is their off-screen camaraderie that has always been the talk of the town. The two have spotted together at various occasions spending time with each other and have managed to spark the rumours about their dating one another. In an interview with a leading magazine, Ishaan had revealed about his equation with Janhvi and had stated, “It's going to be a lifelong friendship. It felt like being on set with your best friend. When Ishaan Khatter had appeared on the second season of Anaita Shroff Adjania’s chat show, Feet Up With The Stars, the host of the show, Anaita had asked Ishaan about one of the most annoying habits of Janhvi. To this, Ishaan had shared that Janhvi is a mastikhor and knows which buttons to press. He had further added that it's irritating because sometimes Janhvi goes on a tangent when it's not required and will stay on it. He ended it by adding that Janhvi fights when she doesn't want to also.
Janhvi Kapoor had featured on the cover of Brides Today magazine and had talked about how her mother, Sridevi ji never trusted her judgement in men. She had revealed, “Yes, and she would say that she doesn’t trust my judgement in guys, that she will choose someone for me. Because I love very easily." She had also talked about the qualities she looks for in her lover and had stated, “He should be really talented and passionate about what he does. I need to be excited and learn something from him. A sense of humour is really important as well. And, of course, he has to be obsessed with me."
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Janhvi had talked about Ishaan and had said, “Till now, he is the only person I have worked with, and it was easy to team up with him because I think we get along really well. Also, as an actor, I am in awe of him and the way he approaches his scenes. Plus, he has great energy (as an actor), and it is probably because he is new too.
