It was on February 24, 2018, when Janhvi's mother, Boney ji's wife and Bollywood's legendary actress, Sridevi passed away in Dubai. Since then, Boney Kapoor has proved himself to be a caring, protective and doting father to both his daughters- Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. During a media interaction last year, in 2018, when Boney Kapoor had broken down and said, "I am trying my best to play the double role of being a father and both", we couldn't have even fathomed the pain in the hearts of his family members then. And now we know for sure that Boney Kapoor has played the dual role of a mom and dad superbly.
Speaking of Boney Kapoor and his relationship with his daughters, there is a throwback picture of a younger Boney ji and kid Janhvi, which has surfaced online. In the picture, we can see Boney Kapoor holding Janhvi Kapoor's hand gently and both are in a state of splits. Take a look:
Boney Kapoor has always been vocal about Janhvi Kapoor, about her career, film choices and her personal life. He had recently shared in an interview with SpotboyE, “She is a very warm, affectionate child with proper netiquettes. All those who have interacted with her tell me that. On being asked about any piece of advice that he would like to give his immensely talented daughter, the doting father had replied, “Keep things simple. There is a lot of negativity in our profession. Different people have different agendas. Just do your work with honesty and sincerity, they will all start talking positively about you one day." Janhvi Kapoor has been under the radar since her debut last year with Dhadak. The 22-year-old actress has been rumoured to be dating her debutant co-star, Ishaan Khatter. Sharing how her father reacts to such reports, Janhvi had recently shared, "Dad screens all my dates, except for the fact that I don't have many dates. Because papa thinks no boy ever is good enough for me." On being asked about Ishaan and what her dad thinks about him, Janhvi said, "Dad thinks Ishaan is a lovely actor and he is very talented. He is a very nice boy."
Janhvi's father, Boney Kapoor had recently shared with the Hindustan Times that he would like to direct his daughter, and son, Arjun Kapoor (and Janhvi's half-brother) someday in a film, "Owing to my production job, as well as my personal liabilities, I could not direct films. However, the fire of direction has been ignited within me again. I feel, since I have actors Arjun and Janhvi at home, I would love to direct a film based on a brother-sister story."
He had further added, "For a long time now, a tale of sibling love has not been shown on celluloid. Therefore, I will be directing a tale based on a brother and sister.
