James Harden's Clip Making Funny Face After GF, Paije Caught Bouquet At Wedding Surfaces Amid Arrest

James Harden is currently hogging the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. According to recent reports, the NBA star was arrested early Saturday morning, on June 13, 2026, as he was charged with the illegal carrying of firearms. Amid this, an old video of James Harden's reaction to his girlfriend catching a bouquet at a wedding has resurfaced.

James Harden and his girlfriend attended a wedding together in October 2025. However, the NBA star unknowingly became the main entertainment of the night. In the video that has now surfaced amid his arrest, the bride can be seen tossing the bouquet, which James' girlfriend, Paije, quickly leapt and caught onto. This left the other guests present at the wedding to cheer and clap for the couple, as many saw it as a sign that James and Paije would get married soon. And while Paije's face was filled with pure joy, it was the complete opposite for James, who didn't move an inch. 

In the clip, James can be seen standing frozen with his eyes wide open as if he saw his future flash before his eyes. James' “deer in the headlights” reaction stole the show, and the crowd immediately ended up in stitches. After Paije's “catch of the night”, she quickly went on to hug her boyfriend. However, James' reaction made it clear that he wasn't planning to propose on that day, or propose to her anytime soon, for that matter. Additionally, James' funny reaction in the video immediately became a trending moment online at the time. 

Who is James Harden's girlfriend, Paije Speights?

If reports are believed to be true, James Harden's girlfriend, Paije Speights, is a model and fashion designer. She also has a considerable presence online, boasting over 208k followers on Instagram. As per her bio, she owns a fashion line called Front Paije. On her account, she can mostly be seen posting about her life, her designs, and her young son. To mention, she shares custody of her son with another well-known basketball player, the former Miami Heat point guard, Mario Chalmers. 

All about James Harden's arrest 

As we mentioned, James Harden was arrested on June 13, 2026, for the illegal carrying of firearms. According to the authorities, James was found with a handgun in a vehicle in Texas. Reportedly, the weapon was in plain sight and not secured in a holster, landing the NBA player with a misdemeanour charge. As of now, James has already been released on bond but will have to make a court appearance on June 22, 2026.

The conditions of his bond prohibit James from owning any firearms, ammunition, or other weapons. He is also not allowed to use, possess, or consume any alcohol, controlled substances, dangerous drugs, or marijuana unless prescribed by a physician. Furthermore, James is required to undergo random drug testing. 

It is worth noting that this is not the first time James Harden has faced legal challenges, although none were criminal in nature. For those unaware, back in 2025, he was referenced in a civil negligence case, which was connected to allegations regarding his nephew at a party in Houston. In 2013, James was also involved in an assault and battery case, but his lawyers have since indicated that the lawsuit resulted in a settlement which allowed both sides to disengage without further action.
