James Cameron Finally Addresses Debate On 'Jack's' Survival In The Film, 'Titanic', 'There's No Way'

It's been more than 25 years since Titanic was released, however, it is still one of the most iconic films made by filmmaker, James Cameron. For the unversed, the filmmaker won three Academy Awards in 1997 for writing, directing and producing Titanic. Recently, the much-loved director answered the long-standing question of whether 'Jack Dawson' could have survived? Read on to know James Cameron's reply.

James Cameron ends the debate of saving ‘Jack’ in Titanic

Recently, James Cameron had a candid conversation with People, during which he addressed the long-standing debate on saving ‘Jack’ in the climax. The much-loved director shared that while shooting the scene, James experimented with a lot of options to save both the characters, however, they couldn’t fit in anything. James Cameron was quoted as saying:

"Don't ask me about the raft, people. Look, we even went to the lengths of doing an experiment to see if Jack could have in any way survived, or if they could have both survived, and people didn't even hear the answer when I told them the answer."

James Cameron reveals he did not have the right technology to survive ‘Jack’

During the same interview, James Cameron also mentioned that back in 1912, there was not much technology that could save ‘Jack’. Further, he jokingly mentioned that it was only luck that could have survived ‘Jack’ in the film, Titanic. The filmmaker shared:

"If Jack somehow was an expert in hypothermia and somehow knew what science now knows back in 1912, it is theoretically possible, with a lot of luck, that he might have survived. Therefore, the answer is no, he could not have. There's no way. The conditions were not met. He couldn't have known those things."
