The daughter of India’s richest mogul, Reliance Industries Chairman, Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, Isha Ambani tied the nuptial knot with Anand Piramal, son of Ajay Piramal and Swati Piramal, on December 12, 2018, at her residence, Antilia, Mumbai. Film and sports icons, business tycoons, political bigshots, celebrities and a host of others attended the ‘royal wedding’ of the scions of two top business conglomerates. On December 12, 2018, the roads that led to Antilia were highly under security and the Ambani residence was decorated nothing less than a nayi naveli dulhan. Mukesh and Nita Ambani's daughter, Isha Ambani exchanged marital vows with Anand Piramal following the traditional Hindu rituals. And Isha’s kanyadaan ritual was narrated by Mr Amitabh Bachchan wherein he explained the customs to the guests present at the wedding through his speech. Big B in his powerful voice also explained how Mukesh Ambani as a father would be feeling giving away his jigar da tukda to the love of her life. In another exclusive video from Isha and Anand’s wedding, we can hear the living legend Lata Mangeshkar’s voice in a beautiful rendition of the Gayatri Mantra. As her unique way to shower blessings on the 'just married' couple, Lata ji had recorded a rendition of the Gayatri Mantra. The recording was played during the wedding customs of Isha and Anand which took place as per Gujarati and Hindu Vedic rituals. Check out the video:
Sharing the details about the same, a source had revealed to us, “In a lovely gesture of love and affection for Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal, living legend Lata Mangeshkar ji showered her blessings by recording a beautiful rendition of the Gayatri Mantra, a Ganesh stuti and a special message for the newlyweds in her own voice. The recording was played during the wedding rituals of the couple on 12th December and added to the grace of the occasion. The source further shared, “Lataji has recorded a rendition in her own voice after several years, making this Hindu Vedic invocation to the gods even more special. Before playing the recording, legendary thespian Shri Amitabh Bachchan gave a small introduction and explained the significance of the rendition by Lataji to the attending guests.”
Another memorable moment from their wedding ceremony was the varmala ceremony. The inquisitiveness about who would put the garland on whom first, with their cousins and relatives ensuring that their side of the soon-to-be-wed wins, is the most fun part! Isha and Anand’s varmala ceremony too had ‘team bride’ and ‘team groom’ ensuring that they win. Everyone was all smiles when both Isha and Anand were trying to put the garland around one another, but ultimately, it was the groom who went away with ‘his trophy’ (we bet you know what we mean!).
Isha Ambani recently made her first public appearance with her husband, Anand Piramal and mother-in-law, Swati Piramal at the annual function of Dhirubhai Ambani International School. After living in one of the world’s second most expensive private residential properties, Antilia, Isha has been gifted a 50,000-square-foot sea-facing bungalow in Worli worth INR 450 crore by her in-laws, Ajay and Swati Piramal. This swanky mansion was purchased by the Piramals for INR 450 crore bungalow from Hindustan Unilever in 2012. This iconic Gulita building was auctioned in 2012 and as per an Economic Times report, Piramals won the bid at INR 450 crore beating businessmen Anil Ambani and Gautam Adani, who had placed bids between INR 350 and INR 400 crore. Isha and Anand’s marital home, which is a gift from the Piramals to the newly-weds is a five-storey bungalow at Worli Sea Face, Mumbai.
Their swanky bungalow’s level 1 has a lawn, an open-air water body, and a double-height multi-purpose room. Ground floor makes to an entrance towards the lobby and the upper floors will be inclusive of living and dining halls, bedrooms and circular studies. Their home will also have lounge areas, dressing rooms and servants’ quarters across different levels.
The house is under renovation, but the newly-weds recently hosted a housewarming-cum-reception bash at their new house.
