Is 'Red Eye' Season 3 On Cards? Here's What We Know About The Series Starring Jing Lusi

Red Eye Season 2, the ITV hit series, is gearing up for its digital premiere. The suspense thriller series starring Jing Lusi in the lead role is releasing on SonyLiv on February 15, 2026. Red Eye Season 2 also revolves around Detective 'Hana Li', who steps in to solve a murder (or two, or more) in a confined space. However, this time, she needs to deal with something deeper that involves the US Embassy. Now that Season 2 is all set to release digitally, let’s find out whether the makers are planning for Season 3.

Is Red Eye Season 3 on the cards?

Fans of Red Eye rejoice. If you have completed watching the six-episode series of Season 2, then we have got you covered for the upcoming season of Red Eye. Yes, you read it right. Creator, Peter A Dowling, revealed the news about Red Eye Season 3. In an interview to launch Season 2, Peter was asked whether the fans would get to see Jing Lusi solving more cases. He shared that they have aimed at a trilogy. He was quoted as saying:

"I'm as excited as anyone to see what trouble Hana, Delaney and Jess will find themselves in next. And, in true movie form, we have to aim for Red Eye to be a trilogy."

What to expect in Red Eye Season 3?

During the same interview, executive producer, Julie Gardner shared that Red Eye Season 3 is in the early stages. She mentioned that Season 3 revolves around the three main characters: 'Hana Li', DG 'Madeline Delaney' (played by Lesley Sharp), 'Jess Li' (played by Jemma More). She highlighted that in Season 3, the audience will see a lockbox location and experience a tight time frame. Thus, we say that Red Eye Season 3 will feature more tension along with high-stakes investigation. She was quoted as saying:

"We are at the beginning of the journey for series three. There is a world, a lockbox location, and there is a tight time frame. In our central characters of Hana, Delaney and Jess, there is a story that I think Pete is excited to tell in season three, but it is early days."

Recap of Red Eye Season 2 (Spoilers ahead)

Red Eye Season 2 kicks off with the murder of a US diplomatic courier at Heathrow airport. Detective 'Hana Li' steps in to investigate the case. Through the investigation, she learns that the courier's official badge and ID have been stolen. This development causes chaos at the US Embassy during a party for the new US ambassador, 'Ronald Tillman' (played by Trevor White). In the finale episode, it is revealed that UK Defence Secretary 'Alex Peterson' (played by Nicholas Rowe) is secretly behind the murders at the embassy.

'Alex' hired a hitman named 'Fox' (played by Tom Forbes) to kill those who could expose his dark secrets. 'Alex' had been secretly stealing money from a military aircraft deal. The secret gets exposed after a plane crash, when a recorder proved that 'Peterson's' lies caused the accident. One of the victims of the tragic plane crash was Flight Lieutenant 'Patrick Johnson' (played by Jack Ambrose), the brother of Clay Brody (played by Martin Compston).

'Peter' lied to the pilots that a passenger was a security threat, which led to the plane crash. However, the truth was different, and the new US ambassador, 'Ronald Tillman', knew it. But instead of exposing the truth, 'Ronald' blackmails 'Peter' to boost his political career. 'Hana', along with 'Clay', escapes with the recorder and hands it over to M15 chief 'Madeline Delaney', who sets a trap for 'Peterson'. 'Hana', 'Clay' and 'Madeline' successfully track down 'Peterson' in the end.
