For the uninitiated, Greg Davies and his co-host of Taskmaster, Alex Horne, were nominated in the Entertainment category for their Channel 4 programme. Before the ceremony, the duo was having a candid chat with the red carpet host and comedian, Tom Allen. Alex thanked his wife, Rachel Horne, a former BBC business journalist, "I would like to thank my wife for getting us here tonight." Hearing this, Greg quipped, "I don't have a wife, so maybe I can thank Alex's wife."

However, when the red carpet host insisted that The Cleaner actor could find his wife at the star-studded event, Greg was quick to answer that he was open to it. He mentioned that it’s been long and now he is fully ready and said, "Maybe I will, I'm open to it. It would be so lovely, it's been too long, and I'm ready now." Hearing this, Alex quipped, "Lonely." In response, Greg said, "Oh god, the horrible hot lonely tears."
