Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleRavi Teja’s Irumudi has made its way to the OTT. For the unversed, the action thriller was released in theatres on August 21, 2026, and is now streaming on OTT giant Netflix. Alongside Ravi Teja, the film also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Sai Kumar, and Baby Nakshathra. The story is about 'Tirunath', a loving father and a protective man who cannot tolerate injustice against women, especially his little girl, 'Manikanda'. Amid the buzz, here’s how the film ends.
What happens in the film, Irumudi? (Spoiler alert)
Irumudi explores the extraordinary bond between 'Tirunath' (played by Ravi Teja) and his daughter 'Manikanda' (played by Baby Nakshatara). 'Manikanda' is especially special to 'Tirunath' because he and his wife, 'Kaveri', had spent years without a child. During that phase, 'Guruswami Goparaj' advised 'Tirunath' to observe an 'Ayyappa Swamy' vow. As said by 'Guruswami', 'Tirunath' wore a sacred mala, followed the rituals, and travelled to Sabarimala. Soon, 'Kaveri' gave birth to 'Manikanda'.

The father-daughter duo shares a very close bond, and 'Tirunath' teaches 'Manikanda' to share everything that happens around her, be it good or bad. While 'Tirunath' is protective and caring for 'Manikanda', he is also worried about the other girls of Aatur and thinks of them as his own daughters. 'Tirunath' cannot tolerate any injustice against girls, and when he gets to know that a man named 'Rangaya' humiliates girls during a kabaddi event, he publicly bashes him and warns him.
In fact, when 'Manikanda' informs him about the four men harassing 'Guruswami's' daughter, 'Gayatri', and the other girls, he tracks them and beats them. However, 'Guruswami' does not want to get involved in fights and prefers to stay silent. After a series of events, 'Rangaya' is murdered mysteriously. The villagers suspect 'Tirunath' because, the night before the murder, he was under the influence of alcohol and had gone looking for 'Rangaya' with a knife.
Meanwhile, the story introduces 'Swastika', a strict school teacher. A flashback explains that 'Swastika' was suspended after a schoolgirl died after being punished and humiliated publicly. After 'Swastika' returns to school, she insists that 'Gayatri' attend evening classes despite transportation issues. As 'Guruswami's' daughter starts going to 'Swastika's' house for the classes, she uses her authority and frightens 'Gayatri'. Over time, 'Gayatri' becomes silent, withdrawn, and visibly distressed.
'Gayatri's' changed behaviour did not go unnoticed by 'Manikanda'. Meanwhile, a schoolgirl, 'Sojla', dies, and before her death, she had revealed that 'Swastika' mistreated her during the special classes. 'Anushaya', who was selected by 'Swastika' along with 'Gayatri', learns the truth about 'Sojla' and suddenly stops attending school. 'Manikanda' later learns everything from 'Anushaya' and understands that 'Gayatri' also might be mistreated like 'Sojla'.
Irumudi ending explained (Spoiler alert)
'Manikanda' decides to tell the truth to 'Tirunath' but fails every time. Days pass by, and one day 'Gayatri' goes missing. Everybody in the village begins searching for 'Gayatri' along with 'Guruswami'. He receives alarming information. A girl’s body is then discovered near the dam. To everyone’s shock, it was 'Manikanda'. Her death left 'Tirunath' heartbroken and in utter disbelief.

While the question of who killed 'Manikanda' prevails, 'Tirunath' gets his broken phone repaired and gets his daughter’s last voice message. In the message, 'Manikanda' revealed that 'Guruswami' is after her and wants to kill her. When 'Tirunath' confronts 'Guruswami', he says that the MLA blackmailed him. After the confrontation, 'Tirunath' kills both 'Guruswami' and the MLA. He also confronts 'Swastika'. The story takes a three-year leap. 'Tirunath' is a changed man and has quit alcohol. He has now become 'Guruswami' himself and devotes his life to 'Ayyappa Swamy'.
