It’s been more than two years since the world of cinema has lost one of the most brilliant actors. It was on April 29, 2020, when Irrfan Khan had left for the heavenly abode and bid adieu to his friends, family, colleagues and his million fans. Irrfan’s untimely demise left a huge vacuum in the film fraternity; however, his family still cannot fathom the loss.
Irrfan was one of the versatile actors, who awestruck everyone with his performances in films like Salaam Bombay, The Namesake, Billu Barbar, The Lunchbox, Haider and many more. He did not just play the character, he lived them. Be it ‘Miya Maqbool’, ‘Roohdaar’, ‘Billu Barbar’, ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ or ‘Champak Bansal’, Irrfan had put life to each character he played on-screen.

Ever since Irrfan Khan’s demise, his wife, Sutapa and their kids, Babil and Ayaan are leading their lives with the profound memories of the late actor. On July 19, 2022, Irrfan’s wife, Sutapa Sikdar took to the photo-sharing platform, Instagram and shared a throwback picture with him from their theatre days. Along with the unseen picture, Sutapa penned a heart-wrenching note for him, which can be read as:
“Jab we met and talked and fought and did work together for sometime and this was jab we decided to throw every thing outside the window and jump out and fall in love.. I am still asking questions you aren't answering like this any more. irrfan.I am listening as intently the same way even now why have you found new ways to answer? Miss you is an understatement.”
When Irrfan was preparing to earn his Master's degree, he was invited to audition for the National School of Drama, New Delhi. Irrfan knew that it was his calling. He listened to his destiny’s call and left to audition for a scholarship. It was during one of the practice sessions that he noticed Sutapa Sikdar.

She was learning the art of acting but wanted to pursue story and screenplay writing. Irrfan took the risk and introduced himself. Everything worked in his favour, and they both became good friends. They both shared similar vibes, and by the end of the term, they were in a steady relationship.
Irrfan Khan’s untimely demise is definitely a huge loss to the industry!
