They revealed that despite crossing paths at multiple events, it wasn't until their meeting in Canada that they began to develop feelings for each other. During an episode of Good Morning Pakistan, Iqra shared how this one encounter changed everything. Speaking about the same, she said:
“We met at awards after that we became friends. We met again at other awards after one year where we got to know each other and spent time together. From then till now, we are together.”
Iqra mentioned that Yasir was always a nice person, and his company kept her all happy and smiling. She said:
“We didn’t travel for awards together but we met at awards where we liked to spend time together with each other. We both had a great time we used to have fun together. He was a nice person and he used to crack good jokes as well.”

Yasir Hussain openly expressed his love for Iqra and made the decision to confess his feelings to her following their encounter at the awards show. Following his admission, Yasir approached Iqra's mother to propose marriage. He shared this during an interview with Reema Khan. Yasir said:
“Then I talked to Iqra’s mother and she took some time but then she agreed. I wanted to get married rather than wasting time.”
