The richest man in India, Mukesh Ambani, added a new aircraft to his extensive private jet fleet in 2024, and it was none other than a Boeing 737 Max 9. The custom-configured aircraft was based on the popular Boeing 737 MAX series. The luxurious jet went to Basil EuroAirport (BSL) in Basel, Switzerland, where it underwent a modification program and a flight test program to ensure the safety.

After the cabin customisations and other upgrades, the aircraft is valued at approximately Rs 1,000 crore. With a cabin floor area of 1,120 sq ft, BBJ 737 Max 9 is the largest aircraft in the Boeing Business Jet MAX family. It features a private bedroom suite, executive lounges, advanced communications systems, executive meeting rooms, dining areas, premium bathrooms, and a state-of-the-art entertainment and communication system.

The jet can fly approximately 6,600 nautical miles nonstop and can give a luxurious flying experience. It can connect cities such as Mumbai and New York or Mumbai and London without refuelling. The jet, which can easily turn into a flying mansion, can carry 220 passengers. The exterior of the plane also features a special livery that combines white, navy blue, and gold. It also features the Reliance Industries logo on the tail.

Mukesh Ambani’s other lavish private jets

Well, this isn’t the only private jet that the billionaire owns, as his fleet also includes a Falcon 900EX jet, an Airbus A319. According to reports, Reliance Industries also operates two Bombardier Global 5000s, two Dassault Falcon 900s, one Bombardier Global 6000, and an Embraer ERJ-135. The company also operates several Sikorsky S-76 helicopters.

In 2007, when Mukesh Ambani surprised Nita Ambani on her birthday with a private jet for her travels across the world. He gifted her a custom-fitted Airbus A319. According to several media reports, the jet is worth Rs. 230 crores. The custom-fitting makes it even prettier and no less than a five-star hotel. 

According to reports, Nita Ambani’s private jet has seating for 10-12 people at a time. Not only this, but it also has a master bedroom, which makes the jet even more special. It also has an attached bathroom inside the luxurious jet for Nita Ambani to get ready.

During Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding, he wanted spiritual guru, Bageshwar Dham's Dhirendra Shastri to grace the event. Since Shastri was in Australia for a katha, Anant arranged one of their private jets for him. Speaking about Anant’s gesture, the saint revealed:

“Sab ready hai, apka Chartered udd jayega, sab ready hai. Ap bhojan karke jana dada. Koi dikkat ho toh hume bata dena.”

Apart from luxurious private jets, Mukesh Ambani owns a swanky yacht which is priced at Rs. 80 to Rs. 90 crores. He has a fleet of luxurious cars, including a Bentley Bentayga worth Rs. 3.85 crores, a Mercedes-Benz S600 Guard worth Rs. 10 crores, a BMW 760 Li worth Rs. 1 crore, a Lamborghini Urus worth Rs. 3.15 crores, an Aston Martin Rapide worth Rs. 4 crores, and many others. He recently purchased India’s first bulletproof Rolls-Royce Cullinan worth Rs. 13 crores.
