Karissa Shannon is pregnant with her first baby
A few days back, Karissa Shannon first revealed that she is pregnant and is expecting her first baby with her new boyfriend on Lisa Guerrero’s podcast. Karissa shared that she is very happy and excited to embrace motherhood. She admitted that she always wanted to become a mom and have a family. She revealed that it's been 7 and a half weeks since she found out about her pregnancy. Karissa stated that her partner is also excited to embrace fatherhood.
Karissa shared that it is both her and her boyfriend’s first time. She highlighted that pregnancy is making her year a perfect one. She mentioned that the process of conceiving was quite tough and revealed that she had been trying to get pregnant for a month now. Karissa stated that she had lost hope when the negative results kept coming up again and again. Now, in an interview with TMZ, Karissa revealed that she is two months pregnant. She said:
"I had my first ultrasound to confirm everything is healthy and normal."
During her conversation with Lisa Guerrero on her podcast, Karissa broke her silence on the challenges she faced while conceiving. She revealed that through some tests, she learned that she has pre-cancerous cells in her cervix. She thought of having surgery and shared that it might have caused infertility. Karissa revealed that she took six weeks to recover after the operation, and it was her partner who stood by her side during this difficult time.
Karissa’s old statement about motherhood resurfaced. Back in a 2025 interview with PEOPLE, Karissa shared that she really wanted to be a mother. Her twin sister, Kristina, also chimed in. She added that they are totally open to IVF motherhood. She said:
"We both really want to be mothers. I mean, our time is ticking here, so if we can't find the husband in the next, what ... then we're totally open to IVF motherhood with just us doing it ourselves."
Who is Karissa Shannon?
Karissa Shannon and her twin sister, Kristina, were born prematurely in October 1989. The twins were cared for by their paternal grandmother as their father and mother were teen parents. The duo dropped out of school in the ninth grade and began working at Ker’s WingHouse, a Hooters-style restaurant chain. At the time, they were just 16.
In 2008, the twin sisters were sent to Playboy Mansion. They experienced bullying inside the mansion as they were the first twins and also got special attention from the Playboy founder, Hugh Hefner. In the 2022 documentary, Secrets of Playboy, Kristina shared how she and her sister, Karissa, were forced into a threesome with Hugh Hefner on their 19th birthday.
Karissa also had an abortion after Hugh impregnated her. Recalling her violent relationship with Hugh, Karissa shared that whenever she had to sleep with Hugh, it was like a rape. She was quoted as saying:
"Every time I’ve done it with him, it’s assault. For me, it’s like rape. He used control mechanisms completely through everything, so I’m happy that I had the abortion."
