How To Choose A Wedding Mandap Decorator

Mandaps are no more just about a four pillared canopy or marquee under which all the religious ceremonies pertaining to a wedding are carried on. These days mandaps are designed as beautifully as the reception stage itself and given a resplendent look with lots of flowers, drapes and other artistic material. So much so that the bride and the groom look like two deities tying the knot in an ethereal setting.

But mandaps can be exorbitantly expensive if a few things are not kept in mind, even when a decorator has been contracted for the purpose.

Reputation & Previous works

As such your wedding planner is supposed to do the needful regarding the mandap design as well but if you think he will not be able to carry off a brilliant design, then you can appoint an external decorator for the purpose. But do check the reputation and earlier works done by the decorator. Ask for a detailed portfolio and decide if his aesthetic inclinations are up to the mark to design a classic mandap.

Price Quotes

Ask for regular price quotes from the decorator and then only go ahead with explaining the concept and theme for the wedding. Though it would be a bit difficult to get the exact quotes without relating your requirements, but then you don’t want to waste your time and energy dealing with decorators that charge exorbitant prices for the minimalist amount of decoration. This may blow your wedding budget out of proportion.

Book in advance

Like all other major contracts, this one also needs to be done well in advance because nobody takes new contracts even a month before the peak wedding season. Moreover, state your requirements, terms and conditions well and consider every aspect of decoration. Even a small neglect like the choice of flowers can skyrocket your decoration budget.
