Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleDrishyam 3: The Conclusion has officially hit the theatres on October 2, 2026. Since its release, people have been anticipating its success, as with its previous part. The film, which opened with close to the Rs. 100 crore mark, stars Ajay Devgn in the titular role, followed by Shriya Saran, Tabu Ishita Dutta, Rajat Kapoor, Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawat.
How is Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3 different from Mohanlal’s Malayalam version?
The Drishyam franchise began with Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph's Malayalam thriller in 2013. The film, which ran in theatres for more than 150 days, was later remade in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. The Hindi version, starring Ajay Devgn, came out in 2015, followed by Drishyam 2 in 2022.
The first two Hindi versions of Drishyam were remakes of Mohanlal's films. However, the latest installment is completely different. At the trailer launch, Ajay Devgn said Drishyam 3 didn't follow the path of Mohanlal’s Malayalam version and instead took a different route. Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Devgn explained that the Malayalam team, Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph, made their third film as their own story. The Hindi team did not want to simply copy it, so they created something different. Talking about the same, he shared:
“We all thought that this should be the conclusion because I don't think we should even attempt to go beyond this. Because everything, if you leave it at the top, that's the best thing. The second film was, in a way, inspired by the original (Malayalam), but this is a completely different script. Their 'Drishyam 3' is completely different, and our film is too. It's not like we have made a lot of changes; it's an entirely different story."
Will there be Drishyam 4? The last dialogue of Drishyam 3 raises hope
In the Hindi version of Drishyam, 'Vijay Salgaonkar' is a cable operator in Goa who lives a peaceful life with his wife 'Nandini' and their two daughters. However, his world turns upside down when a teenage boy goes missing, and his family becomes the prime suspect in the case. The franchise’s single motive was to protect the Salgaonkars, who killed the son of the IG, Meera Deshmukh.
Though Sam’s (Sameer) killing was an accident, ‘Vijay’ will go to any extent to protect his family. Throughout the franchise, the Salgaonkars’ only motive is to protect each other, denying that they knew Sam after Vijay Salgaonkar carefully removed all proof.

In Drishyam 3, new details related to the case begin to unfold. After many twists, the franchise concludes the case due to a lack of evidence. The case against the Salgaonkars gets closed, and they move on with their lives, living peacefully. The film ends on a brilliant note as the court finally closes the case.
As they walk freely, Meera Deshmukh seeks empathy as she says, “Wo galat hokar bhi hero hai aur hum sahi hokar bhi villain.” Her last dialogue raises a very important question: whether Vijay Salgaonkar is actually a hero or a villain. It also generates curiosity about justice. Will ‘Meera’ return again to settle the score with Vijay Salgaonkar, and will there be Drishyam 4? Well, only the makers can confirm it.
