However, 2024 was a tough year for the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai star as she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. During that time, Hina’s now-husband, Rocky Jaiswal, became her pillar of strength. Recalling the tough phase, Hina revealed that during her cancer diagnosis, their relationship had hit a rough patch.
Hina Khan reveals telling her husband, Rocky Jaiswal, to marry someone else during her cancer battle
In a recent conversation, Hina Khan recalled her battle with cancer. The TV actress shared that back then she and her now-husband, Rocky Jaiswal, were going through a rough patch. She explained that their problems were not because they were incompatible. Hina highlighted that the issues they faced at that time were serious real-life and health-related challenges. She added that during her cancer treatment, she even told Rocky to marry someone else. In her words:
"There have been tough times and rough patches, not in terms of compatibility. We are not in that space where we fight; we have been in real-life crises. Healthwise, whatever we have been through, especially in my case and his mother’s case, there have been times when I asked Rocky to marry someone else. I told him many things won’t be the way they were. That’s where your love is tested; I was not testing him. Had he chosen that, I would have been happy for him; I love him so much that his happiness is more important than being with him."
However, Rocky chose to stay beside Hina through thick and thin. She shared that it was Rocky’s support that helped her to pass the difficult phase. Although they had to make some tough decisions, he stood beside her and made everything around seem easier. She was quoted as saying:
"He chose to be with me in thick and thin; it was a very rough patch, we had to take tough decisions, and we did. Anyone who has been there with me at that time knows that I was able to do it only because of him. He made it look like a cakewalk."
Hina Khan opens up about her and Rocky Jaiswal's marriage and relationship
During the same conversation, Hina opened up about her and Rocky’s marriage and relationship. The couple got married on June 4, 2025, after having a 13-year-long relationship. They met and fell in love on the sets of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. However, social media users called their marriage a publicity stunt. Reacting to the following, Hina shared that she is not bothered until she and Rocky know the truth. She mentioned that they had planned the marriage long ago. In her words:
"I really don’t care what people say; we know the reality. If you look at it from a publicity point of view, the actual real reason disappears. We got married because we dated for the longest time, 13-14 years, and we wouldn’t have gotten married even now. It was all decided months in advance; it was under the Special Marriages Act. So we had to plan everything well in advance. We got married because we didn’t know about tomorrow. We had even decided the date well in advance."
On June 24, 2026, the couple completed one year of marriage. Taking to her Instagram handle on June 26, 2026, Hina shared a carousel and wrote, "They say it’s a very special day, but I guess each day is special to us. Dates don’t matter; moments do, and besides our birthdays, we remember nothing. That’s how it’s always been. Thanks to our families and well-wishers for reminding us that it’s our first."
