Esha Deol is one of the most loved actresses. She beautifully carved her own niche and created an identity away from her superstar parents, Dharmendra and Hema Malini. However, many among the early 2000s actresses were known to get into nasty catfights on the sets. And Esha Deol has also been part of a crazy fight with Amrita Rao with whom she was shooting in 2006. The fight escalated to a level when Esha straight away slapped Amrita Rao on the sets of their film, Pyaare Mohan.
When Hema Malini and Esha Deol made an appearance on the show, Aap Ki Adaalat, the veteran actress talked about the incident and supported her daughter. In a video that has been doing rounds on the internet, we can see Rajat Sharma saying, "Esha ne admit kara jo inki co-star, Amrita Rao unko thappad maar diya tha." To this, Esha proudly said:
"Kisi ne agar kuch galat kiya aur hum baaton se unhe samjha nahi paate hain, toh..."

Hema Malini intertwined and defended Esha's slapping episode. She supported Esha and added that when people don't understand things, then we need to try another way to make them understand. She was quoted as saying:
"Dekhiya, agar koi galat baatein kehte rehte hain aur samjhaane ke baad bhi nahi samjhte hain toh kuch alag dhang se samjhana padta hai."

Earlier, in an interview with The Times Of India, Esha Deol revealed that Amrita kept provoking her and she abused her in front of the director, Indra Kumar and the cameraman. Esha found it extremely demeaning and out of the line. She added that to protect her self-respect and dignity she slapped her. The actress further added that she has no regret and Amrita deserved the slap.
