Hayden Panettiere's Ex Brian's Sister Reveals Why The 36-Year-Old Kept Going Back To Him

However, many were left upset when it was revealed that Hayden was with her ex-boyfriend, Brian Hickerson at the time of her death. The two's relationship has been in the headlines, as Hayden was subjected to physical abuse at the hands of Brian.
Brian Hickerson's sister revealed the reason why Hayden Panettiere kept returning to him
Brian Hickerson's sister, Ashley Hickerson revealed that her brother has a charming personality and it was what made Hayden come back to him, despite their tumultuous relationship. For the unversed, Hayden met Brian in 2018 when he was then working as a real estate agent. The couple dated on and off until Hayden's death.
Not only this, but Hayden has also filed a domestic violence report against Brian and he has been arrested multiple times. At the time of Hayden's death, Brian was present at the Airbnb in Greneville, South Carolina. The two were heading to Brian's hometown but Hayden's friends had no idea about their reconcilation. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Ashley, Brian's sister, revealed that she understands why Hayden kept returning to him. She said:
"If I can say one thing about Brian, it’s that he is the most charismatic person and he draws you in. I get why Hayden was with him. Brian is just the type of person who can make you laugh no matter what, and he can be fun."
Ashley further stated that Brian's has had a history of abuse, but it is not a reflection of how he grew up. The atmosphere at their home had nothing to do with his life choices. His behaviour changed after he got into drugs. She said:
"We all have our demons. Brian was not raised that way. It wasn’t until he got into drugs that he went south."
She added that Brian acknowledged his issues and took help and treatment for the same. Ashley also stated that her family is grieving her death. She called Hayden's passing a major tragedy.
A source close to Hayden and Brian revealed to Page Six that they were together in the actress's final days. The insider also revealed that Brian was supposed to leave, but the two ended up on a flight to South Carolina where he lives. However, the source further revealed that the two were not romantically involved, and highlighted Hayden's remark about Brian on Jay Shetty's podcast just three months ago.
The source further claimed that Brian keeps working on his way to get back into Hayden's life as 'a so-called friend'. But Hayden's close friends were not happy with her involvement with Brian of any kind. The informer called Brian bad news and a real jerk.
It is worth noting that Hayden kept her return to Brian hidden from her friends. The source stated that she wasn't talking about him to her friends. Another source justified it by stating that if you have shared some dark times with people and spoken badly about them, you feel ashamed of talking about them. The source said:
"If you’ve gone through some dark times with people and spoken about it [publicly] then there can be shame if you get back together with that same person. So maybe that was why she hadn’t mentioned it to us."
It is worth adding that Hayden and Brian had a difficult relationship, as it was marked by serious allegations of all sorts. From domestic violence claims to arrests and even criminal pleas. In 2019, Brian was arrested for deomestic violence, and four months later, the case was dimissed, and, and Hayden described it as the beginning of the physical abuse.
