Hayden Panettiere’s ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko is shocked after her death
Hayden Panettiere’s ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, has now addressed the actress’ death by paying an emotional tribute to her on his Facebook account. In his post, Wladimir expressed his shock and disbelief about Hayden’s sudden death and revealed that despite their estranged bond, she would always be an integral part of his life as he penned:
“Our family is going through a time of profound shock and grief. The announcement of Hayden’s tragic death saddens me deeply. She left this world far too soon. Hayden was, although no longer my partner, an important part of my life and the mother of our daughter, Kaya.”
In his emotional post, Wladimir also penned that he would keep Hayden’s memories intact for their daughter, Kaya and would always speak highly of her. His words can be read as:
“She built an incredible career through immense talent, while also facing the darker sides of a very demanding industry. Nothing will erase the times we shared or the place she had in our lives. To our daughter Kaya, I will always speak of her mother with respect and make sure she remembers the person she was. I ask everyone to please respect our family’s feelings and privacy during this incredibly difficult time. For now, this is all I wish to say.”
Why did Hayden Panettiere give away the custody of her daughter to Wladimir Klitschko?
For the unversed, Hayden Panettiere's ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, is a Ukrainian former professional heavyweight boxing champion. He met Hayden at a mutual friend's party in 2008, and the two began dating. Both of them got engaged in 2013, and by December 2014, they had a daughter whom they named Kaya Evdokia Klitschko.
Things changed rapidly after Kaya’s birth as Hayden experienced severe postpartum depression and also battled addiction. In 2018, Hayden and Wladimir separated, and she gave him custody of their daughter to give her a stable and secure life. Since Hayden battled depression and addiction, she knew it was impossible for her to raise Kaya in a secure environment. At the time, Kaya was two years old when she went to live with Klitschko full-time in Ukraine.
There had been reports that Hayden had abandoned her daughter. The actress later pushed back, stating that she voluntarily chose to let Kaya live with her father because she believed it was the best option for her daughter at the time. She also pointed out that she knew Kaya was safe and well cared for with Klitschko. Although Kaya lives with her father, Hayden revealed the distance never weakened their relationship. In many interviews, she revealed that she often visited Kaya and stayed in regular contact through FaceTime when they were apart.
