The spat between Indian pacer, Mohammed Shami and his estranged wife, Hasin Jahan is only spiralling upwards day by day. Last month, on March 06, 2018, Hasin Jahan had posted pictures, and screenshots of chats that Shami allegedly had with other women (Check out the pics and details here). A few days later, she filed an FIR against Shami for adultery and domestic violence.
In spite of the legal complaint, no action was taken against Shami. In fact, Jahan had also alleged Shami of corruption charges but on March 23, 2018, the BCCI cleared him off charges (only corruption), and he is currently playing the eleventh season of IPL with the Delhi Daredevils. Considering that nothing went in her favour, Hasin Jahan filed a fresh legal complaint yesterday i.e. on April 10, 2018, at the Alipore District Court in Kolkata. Earlier, she had filed the complaint at Lalbazar police station. Zakir Hussain, Jahan’s lawyer, revealed to the Times of India, “We approached the court of the additional chief judicial magistrate who sent us to the court of the third judicial magistrate for a quick hearing. The magistrate heard our petition and passed an order show-causing the opposite party asking why an ex-parte order would not be passed against them if they don’t appear before the court within 15 days of receipt of the summons. The Alipore court petition seeks Mohammed Shami, his mother Anjuman Ara Begum, his sister Sabina Anjum, his brother Md Hasib Ahamed to be present in the court within 15 days and file in their versions.
As per of the legalities of the complaint, Hasin has also demanded 10 lakh rupees a month from Shami for her monthly expenses, maintenance and for her daughter’s education. Jahan’s lawyer was quoted as saying, “This case is different from the one we had filed before the police. Shami had not paid a single penny to Jahan since she had raised the issue. He had given her a Rs 1 lakh cheque that later bounced. Now she has no money to pay for the monthly expenses.”
Hussain further revealed to the court that Shami earns more than 10 crores per year, hence, it would not be a problem for him to pay Jahan. He added, “It is his duty to take care of the family and pay for the wife and child’s expenses. Outside the Alipore court, Jahan spoke to the TOI and said, “I am at a loss from all ends. I had been to Delhi to meet him and was there for seven days but I can never forget the way he behaved with me. He also met the daughter only once. Hence I demand the maintenance fee as he is not taking any of our responsibilities.”
Despite all these legal discourses and the obvious name-shaming, Shami’s love for his wife is unconditional. He recently shared a picture of a cake and sweetly captioned it, “4th Marriage anniversary cake for my bebo miss you.”
To a leading news channel, Shami earlier spoke and said that he is innocent, “I have evidence to prove my innocence. There is no chance of mending things with my wife, and I am not willing to have an out-of-court settlement, will take the legal route.”
Now that a fresh legal move has been taken by Hasin Jahan, perhaps the truth will be clearer now, and we might see Mohammed Shami at the court anytime soon.
