Harry Styles' new album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, is out now, and fans cannot have enough. However, the intense attempts to decode the singer's new tracks have begun, and Harry has also given us some hints about which song holds special significance for him. The singer-actor has revealed that the song that means the most to him is the friendship-inspired track titled Carla's Song. Nonetheless, now the question is, who is the song about, and what does it mean? Let's find out.
Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, was a much-awaited album as it came after a two-year-long wait for the star. Amid that, Harry Styles, who loves to name-drop, has revealed some insight into the story that inspired his closing track, Carla's Song. The British pop star spoke with Zane Lowe on Apple Music and shared what really inspired the track. Harry revealed that the song has "answered so many questions" he had about why he loves making music and performing. He was quoted as saying:
"Carla kind of just became, in so many ways, the most important part of the record to me. Watching her listen to it, having never heard that song, felt like I was just watching someone discover magic. It reminded me that there was a time when you heard a song for the first time that made you want to touch music, in some way."

In the same conversation, Harry Styles recalled a moment when Carla and their group of friends were hanging out at someone's home before and after a party. He recalled that Carla mentioned that she had just discovered Paul Simon, someone whom Harry had grown up listening to, Simon and Garfunkel. He stated:
"When I lived in a pub a little bit when I was younger, there was like a four-CD changer that I think the ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ record was in the whole time I lived there."

Harry Styles added that it was that night with Carla and their friends that he decided to play Bridge Over Troubled Water for her, thinking she would like it. He revealed that it was the moment that turned out to be life-changing for both of them. He also played her Simon and Garfunkel's Kathy's Song, which inspired the title Carla's Song. He stated:
"Watching her listen to it, having never heard that song, felt like I was just seeing or something, or like discovering magic. There was something in that moment that reminded me of, by making music, what you’re investing in, and it’s songs that go so beyond our lifetime."

Harry Styles explained that the experience helped him acknowledge what was so special about making music. He reflected on how "maybe someone hears a song of yours and goes, 'This song's going to be in my life forever.' That is kind of it. Like, that is enough. And I don't ask for any more than that, really." The realisation led Harry to pen the song, which eventually made the cut in the album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.
