Hardik Pandya is one of the most eminent cricketers in India. Ever since the onset of IPL 2024, he has been hitting the headlines for a number of reasons. From a section of netizens getting offended by his captaincy in the place of Rohit Sharma, to booing him during a cricket match inside the stadium to the cricketer being spotted at holy shrines, Hardik has become a point of discussion currently. Amidst all these, reports have surfaced that Hardik has been duped by his stepbrother for a whopping amount.
According to a report in The Times Of India, Hardik Pandya's stepbrother, Vaibhav Pandya (37), was arrested on April 10, 2024, for allegedly cheating the cricketer and his brother, Krunal Pandya, with a huge amount of money. The Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai police said that Vaibhav allegedly diverted around Rs. 4.3 crore from their partnership firm, causing a loss to the cricketer and his brother, Krunal. Thus, Vaibhav has been charged with cheating and forgery.

In 2021, when Hardik, Krunal, and Vaibhav jointly set up a polymer business, they opted for some terms that were accepted by all three of them. One claim among them was that the cricketer and his brother infused 40 percent capital each while Vaibhav gave in only 20 percent. However, Vaibhav later set up another firm dealing in the same trade but didn't inform Hardik and Krunal, in violation of the terms.
A few days back, Hardik Pandya was spotted offering prayers to Lord Shiva as he had visited the Somnath temple amid IPL matches. In a few glimpses that surfaced on the internet, he was seen performing rudra abhishek and many other puja rituals. In a video that went viral, Hardik looked handsome in a kurta, and he was seen praying to Lord Shiva ahead of his match on April 7, 2024, in Delhi.

Earlier, during an IPL match against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Hardik received booing from the crowd. Even when Sanjay Manjrekar tried to shush the crowd, the latter didn't stop doing so. Rohit Sharma also tried to control the situation by making a hand gesture to the crowd. Soon, the glimpses went viral and Rohit's fans loved his gesture for his fellow teammate, Hardik, but the whole fiasco became a point of discussion for many.
