Halle Berry's Remarks On Ex-Husband's Infidelity Surface Amid Abuse Claims, 'Remember Every Detail'

Halle Berry once opened up about her ex-husband cheating on her
During her appearance on Jenna and Sheinelle, Halle Berry opened up about her cheating scandal with her ex-husband, Eric Benet, nearly 20 years ago. For those unaware, the duo was married from 2001 to 2005. Eric later admitted that he had cheated on Hale during that time. For those unaware, in 2002, he even checked into a 32-day sex rehab program, although the actress has expressed doubts about whether he was truly addicted to sex.
According to Halle Berry, the reason she remained silent about her ex-husband’s infidelity was that there were children involved. However, she was able to navigate that difficult period of her life thanks to her friends. She claimed that talking to them about the experience and getting it off her chest was “very, very helpful.” Halle added:
"You remember every detail of the whole situation, and it stays with you forever. So when you can share it somehow, that's therapeutic. It's a catharsis when you can really share it, and someone else can say what their experience has been"
When host Sheinelle Jones asked Halle Berry if she felt like she “had to hide” when the cheating allegations erupted in her marriage, the actress explained that she “couldn't hide.” This is because it was all over the news. She said:
“I didn't talk about it necessarily very publicly, but I did talk about it. I did not carry the shame.”
All about Oliver Martinez’s allegations of abuse against Halle Berry
Oliver Martinez filed for a restraining order and sole custody of their son, 12-year-old Maceo, after accusing Halle Berry of physically attacking the boy. He revealed that the incident in question took place on September 26, 2026, when Halle entered Maceo's room while he was playing a virtual reality game.
Becoming furious at her son, Halle began pushing him, leading Maceo to ask her to stop. According to Oliver, the actress told their son that he looked “so stupid” and that he was “such an idiot” for playing with the VR glasses. Things escalated when Halle Berry "grabbed Maceo by the neck and started choking him while shouting, ‘Who is dominant now?! Who is dominant?" After managing to “fight back,” Maceo finally managed to escape his mother's grip. Halle’s boyfriend had also entered the scene after he heard the boy screaming.
In a “panicked state,” Maceo called Oliver to “come pick him up right now.” As Oliver headed towards his ex-wife’s house, their son texted him again, writing, “Are you here? Please come.”
As Oliver's allegations made headlines, Halle Berry hit back by responding through her attorney Marina Beck. Marina claimed that Halle expected a "meritless" lawsuit from an "erratic, possessive, and violent" person like Oliver. The lawyer said that since Halle was already used to Oliver's “outrageous conduct,” she would not be stepping back from fighting for her son. They added:
"In a way, today's filing is not entirely unexpected from an individual with a well-documented history of erratic, possessive, and violent behavior. Fortunately, Halle is used to this kind of outrageous conduct from Mr. Martinez and, while she is deeply saddened, she will not allow it to deter her from fighting for Maceo's best interests and providing him with the love and support he needs."
