The names of A-list Hollywood celebrities, Justin Bieber, Hailey Baldwin Bieber, and Selena Gomez became forever intertwined after Justin engaged in an on-and-off relationship with both. If we take Selena and Hailey’s names in a sentence, then one would immediately know that we are going to talk about their infamous feud. The alleged feud between Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez started sometime in the 2000s. Back then, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber were a couple who would go on dates, be mushy and click lovey-dovey pictures, just like any other couple their age would do. However, things quickly changed when the two broke up in 2010.
Then Hailey Baldwin entered into the picture. She met Justin Bieber backstage at one of his concerts, and they instantly hit off. But this did not go well with the die-hard Jelena (Justin+Selena) fans. They were unhappy with Justin because he started dating Hailey Baldwin when he wasn't with Selena. Eventually, Justin Bieber got married to Hailey Baldwin in 2018.
In September 2022, four years after her marriage to Justin Bieber, Hailey made her first public comments regarding the whole fiasco. During an episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Hailey addressed the years of drama, rumoured feuds, cheating accusations, and aggressive bullying from fans of Jelena. Hailey was asked about Justin Bieber’s relationship with Selena Gomez. While Hailey refrained from mentioning the latter’s name, she said:
“I understand, again, how it looks from the outside and there’s a lot of perception there, but that was a situation where I know for a fact that it was the right thing for them to close that door.”
Hailey Bieber further added that it was best for the duo to move on from their relationship once and for all. She further mentioned that moving on from his past relationship was the best thing that happened to him. She said:
“They were not in a relationship at that time, but of course, there’s a very long history there, and it’s not my relationship. It has nothing to do with me, so I respect that a lot, but I know that it closed a chapter, and I think it was the best thing that could’ve happened for him to move on and be engaged and get married. Like, move on with his life in that way.”

For the unversed, the Bieber couple, Justin and Hailey, celebrated their fifth marriage anniversary on September 14, 2023. The duo shared cutesy posts on their respective Instagram accounts to commemorate their special day. The host, Alex Cooper, of the same podcast, asked Hailey if she and Justin had dated while the latter was still in a relationship with someone. To which Hailey said:
“No, not one time. When him and I ever started, like, hooking up or like anything of that sort, he was not ever in a relationship — ever, at any point. … It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship, I would just never do that. I was raised better than that. I’m not interested in doing that. I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody. That’s the end of it. And I had been involved with him since I was 18.”
Hailey Bieber further mentioned that communicating with Selena after her marriage brought her peace. She said their conversation brought her peace, and the trio knew what happened amidst them. Hailey said:
"It's all respect. It's all love. That's also why I feel like if everybody on our side knows what happened and we're good, and we could walk away from it with clarity and respect, then, like, that's fine. You're never going to be able to correct every narrative and there's gonna be new ones that come. It's never gonna end and that's why I get to the point — that's why I didn't speak about a lot of this stuff."
