Govinda has strongly reacted to his wife, Sunita Ahuja's 'sugar daddy' comment about him. He shared that his wife is coming in the way of his work. He blamed her for not signing all the movie opportunities that have come across his way. Speaking about his rumoured girlfriend, Komal Rani Swarnkar, Govinda shared:
"Kisi gareeb parivaar se jab log film line mein aate hain, unhein is kadar lajjit ya badnaam mat kijiye ki woh bhaag jaayen. You are leaving no stone unturned to make sure that I fall out of people’s hearts. You have already been blessed with fame, respect, and wealth; God has given you all of it. That doesn’t mean you should humiliate someone who doesn’t have what you have. Please stay within your limits."
Govinda accused his wife, Sunita Ahuja of coming in the way of his work and shared that he did miss out on movie opportunities. Govinda shared that Sunita earned his support by participating in reality shows or working during the COVID-19 lockdown. He alleged that she was doing everything to ensure he was defamed so that people would lose respect for him and he would not get work.

Govinda stated that Sunita had no right to humiliate anyone simply because they had less talent, respect, fame, or wealth than she did. Govinda stated that he is being paired with young female stars, which is good for him at this time and even for artists. He told his wife to stay within her limits and shared:
"Aap yeh nahin chah rahi hain ki main yuva kaise dikh sakta hoon. Desh ke sabhi bade kalakaron ne un sab ladkiyon ke saath kaam kiya hai jo youngsters rahi hain. Aap ek bhi kasar nahi chhod rahi hain ki main logon ke dilon se utar jaun. Shohrat, izzat, daulat sab mili hui hai, uparwale ne di hai. Iska matlab ye nahi ki jiske paas nahi hai, use aap jalil karein. Aap thoda sa hadh mein rahiye."
Govinda did note that his wife left no stone unturned to make him lose people's respect, defame him, or otherwise affect his business. People from low-income families enter the film industry, and all he asked of her was not to defame them to the point that they run away or become afraid. In his words:
"You have the ability, power, wealth and respect. God has given you everything. But that doesn't mean you should humiliate someone who doesn't have these things. It doesn't suit you. I don't do the work that I get from outside. And what I am doing, you are interfering in it. And when you were doing your work, whether it was a food show or a lockdown, by telling Tina to ask me to appear in both the shows, you made me forget all these things."
Govinda taking a jibe at Sunita's 'sugar daddy' comments further revealed that all the great artists of the country have worked with young actresses or newbies. Talking about the age difference, Govinda stated that stars got good films, fame, and respect when they worked with young stars. He claimed that Sunita does not want him to look young.
