Govinda and Sunita Ahuja's fans were shocked to see her at a family court in Mumbai. They started speculating that the duo were washing their dirty linen in public. Some even felt that Sunita was taking a stand for herself. Burying all the buzz, Govinda's manager Shashi Sinha confirmed that she has withdrawn the case. In an interview with HT, he stated:
"Sab log darr kyu rahe hai. Sunita ji ne apna case wapas liya hai. Yeh toh khush hone ki baat hai."

Govinda's manager Shashi Sinha expressed displeasure over how the personal matter of the actor and his wife, Sunita came out in the public. He stated that there was no need for the same to come out this far, as fights happen and yet after that things continue. Shashi, in an interview with NDTV, further stated:
"But once it reaches the courts, the whole world knows. Did the world need to know? There was no need. Family matters should stay within the family. Many things get resolved after sitting and talking things through. If the case was to be withdrawn today, why was it filed in the first place? This pains me. Why did we become a spectacle?"
Sunita Ahuja's sudden appearance at the family court raised eyebrows related to her relationship with Govinda. A user speaking on their bond shared, "Shanti se rahana chahie. She and her kids enjoyed every bit of the wealth Govinda made. They are purely gold diggers. She shouldn’t take a penny from his earnings if she doesn’t want him."
Govinda's manager further revealed that Sunita Ahuja had stormed out of the court in anger, so everyone thought that she was angry. However, everything was fine between them. For the uninitiated, Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja, filed for divorce against the actor. This was on December 5, 2024, at the Bandra Family Court under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. The petition alleged adultery, cruelty and desertion by the actor.
Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja got married in 1987 and are parents to two kids, Tina Ahuja, 37, and Yashvardhan, 29. In recent years, the couple's marriage has come under major scrutiny. The couple was seen making controversial remarks about their relationship, and everything was in the public eye.
Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja has openly spoken about the actor having multiple affairs. This was after Sunita called him a 'sugar daddy' after rumours floated that the actor was dating Rani Swarnkar. Govinda's comeback film reportedly is with Rani in Roopa. Sunita, on Ganesh Chaturthi 2025 had spoken about reconciling with Govinda and shared:
"Aaj itna close, close... agar kuch hota toh hum itne nazdeek hotey? Humaari dooriyan hoti! Koi hum dono ko alag nahi kar sakta hain, chahe upar se koi aa jaaye bhagwan aa jaaye, koi shaitaan aa jaaye. Koi nahi alag kar sakta hai."
Govinda in recent times slammed Sunita Ahuja by telling the media that she was maligning his image. He asked her not to abuse in reality shows and to have some respect and control over her swear words. Govinda also revealed that just because his comeback movie is with a young actress, it does not mean that he is dating her. Sunita publicly accused Govinda of dating an actress much younger than she is.
