The New York Police Department has revealed that the victim was a 51-year-old concertgoer who fell from the upper levels of the arena bowl during Goose's performance. He was reportedly present there with his wife. Officers responded to a 911 call that reported an injured man at the venue. For the unversed, the concertgoer was a dad to two, and amid this fatal incident hitting the headlines, let's know what actually happened and who the man was.
The officials, after receiving the 911 call, found the individual fatally injured, and following this, the victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was pronounced dead. Fox News had earlier revealed that the man was on the elevated section (300 level) of Madison Square Garden, which also includes the arena’s balcony and upper-tier seating, exactly above the lower bowl and floor sections.
The incident happened during Goose's second performance at Madison Square Garden. The band, which consists of Rick Mitarotonda, Trevor Weekz, Peter Anspach and Cotter Ellis, also addressed this fatal incident and released a statement, offering condolences to the victim's family. The band released a statement, revealing:
"We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight’s show. We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected. Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support."
The 51-year-old concertgoer had been identified as Paul Kueker, who passed away after the fatal incident of falling from the elevated section of Madison Square Garden, and Goose continued to perform. The emergency crew tried to save the individual but was unsuccessful in doing so. Paul Kueker was the director of operations for the energy management company Smartcon Solutions. He was married and shared two kids with his wife, Kristen Lomme Kueker.

On June 20, 2026, he attended the Goose band's performance with his wife and was on the Chase Bridge. Paul's mother, Patricia Finelli, broke down in tears as she addressed the passing of her son, adding that her child was the greatest kid in the world, and was someone who would give the next person the back of his shirt. His mom confirmed that Paul was married with two kids, while adding that she was treated extremely well by her son. She said:
"He was the greatest kid in the whole wide world. He’d give you the shirt off his back. He has two children, a beautiful wife, and he took care of me like I was a piece of gold.”
Not just his mom, his company's manager also reacted to the tragic passing of the dad of two. Speaking to The NYP, the general manager said that everyone is utterly heartbroken with this tragic news. Apparently, along with being a dutiful son, Paul was also a good employee, as his boss tagged him as the heart of the company. Addressing the loss, the GM of Paul's company said:
"We are heartbroken by the sudden passing of Paul Kueker. Paul meant the world to everyone at Smartcon. He was an extraordinary person and a valued member of our team, and the loss is felt deeply across our entire company. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. He will be profoundly missed.”
