Girl Takes NEET PG Exam In Tears As Parents Remain Missing After Nepal Floods, 'They Have To Come'

Amid that, the story of a NEET PG aspirant named Tanvi has left everyone heartbroken and equally inspired. The young girl appeared for her test in tears and is now winning hearts for trying to fulfil her parents' dreams despite their absence following the flood.
Tanvi gave her NEET PG exam in tears as her parents remain missing
The NEET PG exam on August 30, 2026, brought the heartbreaking story of aspirant Tanvi into the limelight. The young girl was supposed to take one of the most important exams in her career. However, it was marked by dark clouds of heartbreak, and her parents' absence lay heavy on her heart. Like thousands of other aspirants, Tanvi walked into the examination hall knowing that she had three hours to give it everything she had.
However, her mind remained somewhere else. According to reports, Tanvi was grappling with the fear and uncertainty surrounding her missing parents as she sat for the NEET exam. Her parents, Venkatram Annamdevara and Anagha Annamdevara, were travelling with a 67-member Kailash Yatra group that was caught in the floods in Nepal in late August 2026. Although she had been unable to contact them, Tanvi went to the examination centre and sat for her test.
Tanvi later took to her Instagram handle and shared a heartbreaking video, recounting the three hours she spent giving the exam while carrying the fear. She recalled how she spent half the examination crying her eyes out, till she could barely read the questions. She said:
"Out of the three-hour exam, one and a half hours I spent crying."

Further in the video, Tanvi recalled one of the hardest moments for her while preparing for the exam. She revealed that she broke down when she saw the picture on the examination screen, as it was the same picture her father, Venkatram Annamdevara, had taken of her. In the middle of an exam she had prepared so hard for, the photograph became the cruel reminder of what was happening outside the room. However, she reminded herself that her parents wanted her to do so and said:
"I just knew that my dad wants me to give this exam and I have to do it for him, I have to do it for my parents."
Tanvi shared another sweet memory which now brought her to tears. She recalled how her mother would give her curd and sugar before she left for any important event. However, this time she was not there. Tanvi reflected on the heartbreak and said, "More than the exam, the most difficult part was that before the exam, my mom would always give me curd and sugar." She became further emotional while speaking about her parents as she expressed her hope for their safe return. She was quoted as saying:
"They have to come."
For those who are not aware, Tanvi previously shared that her parents, Venkatram Annamdevara and Anagha Annamdevara, were part of a 67-member group on Kailash Yatra. However, the harmonious trip turned lethal after the floods hit Nepal, and Tanvi was unable to contact her parents, the tour group, or the organisation handling the pilgrimage. Tanvi had earlier said the group's last known location was around the immigration centre and the Friendship Bridge in Nepal.
