Most photographers will try to stick to the bare minimum while taking their wedding photos. The wedding couple will have asked for maybe a 100 photos of the couple and the family and the photographer will ensure that he limits himself to it. But think about it! You already have a photographer and a videographer recording the event, right? Then what is the need to take additional photos of wedding guests when they have already been recorded on the wedding video?
Instead of spending on wedding photos of your friends and colleagues, we suggest that you spend more on photos of yourself during, before and after the wedding. This way you have several great photos of yourself as a permanent record of the wedding. One good way of doing this is by using architectural backdrops as photo ops for your wedding. Here is how it works.
You know your city the best. Take a walk about the oldest part of your city to find buildings that look vintage and antique. If possible, ask your photographer to accompany you or make his own list that you can check out. Inquire inside the building to find out whether you can take photos of the building and a few rooms inside the building. You may or may not have to pay a fee. Usually heritage buildings like The Taj Hotel in Mumbai will have several rooms that are decorated in the same vintage look and are perfect for romantic photos but these hotels will not issue permission of photos only. Ensure that you find at least two or three heritage buildings like these.
Sit down with your photographer and choose the shots that you want. Here you will have to defer to the photographers expertise. They will be able to tell you exactly the kind of lighting and effects that will make the best photos for that particular vintage venue. If required, you might have to change your outfits to fit the venue. A few photograhers can really make the venue and couple look unique in any clothing. Step 3- Prepare for the day
You will not get time to take these special photos during your wedding. Plan a day before the wedding when you and your loved one can dress up and visit these venues for a special photo. You might have to book transportation as you will be dressed in your wedding finery and that will make travelling difficult.
