Get Ready For 'Love Story,' Most Anticipated Romance Anthology Coming Soon On FX And Hulu

Ryan Murphy is expanding the American Story franchise with a new entry, Love Story. The format will remain the same, except that the focus will be on romance. The latest installment arrives around two years after American Sports Story, which premiered back in 2024. However, American Horror Story has been the most successful one among all of them, as it has aired 12 seasons so far, and the 13th is scheduled to arrive soon.

The new anthology will focus on the relationship between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. The trailer of the show was released on February 2, 2026 (ET), and it is expected to bring unknown facts related to the romance between the popular personalities. Love Story is scheduled to premiere on February 12, 2026. Keep reading to know more about the upcoming show.

Release date of Love Story was confirmed in January 2026

Love Story entered development around five years ago, in 2021. The series has already created headlines after John F. Kennedy Jr.’s nephew, Jack Schlossberg, expressed his dissatisfaction in 2025 with the fact that the family members were not approached before the show entered production. In January 2026, FX confirmed the release date of the series as February 12, 2026. 

However, all nine episodes won’t arrive together since three episodes will be released on the premiere date. This will be followed by a release of one episode each week, leading to the end of the show on March 26, 2026. Apart from FX, the show will also arrive on Hulu at 9 p.m. ET. The series will be available on Disney+ internationally for streaming. Notably, the release of the show falls on the Valentine’s Day week.

Love Story will address the rise of the lead characters in their own fields alongside their romance

As mentioned, Love Story will bring everything about the relationship between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette on screen. A press release by FX described John and Carolyn’s love story as something that grabbed everyone’s attention years ago. It says that they immediately got attracted to each other, and the relationship was “electric and undeniable.” While things were going fine for the duo, the popularity and media attention created complications to separate them from each other.

The press release described John F. Kennedy Jr. as an individual who became well-known with time as a bachelor and a media sensation. The entire country witnessed how John grew up, and the same can be said for Carolyn Bessette, who became a star by being an independent girl. Carolyn worked at Calvin Klein for a long time, and she initially started at the company as a sales assistant. For the unversed, John F. Kennedy and Carolyn Bessette lost their lives in a plane crash that happened in 1999.

Love Story features a lineup of talented people among the cast members

'John F. Kennedy Jr.' and 'Carolyn Bessette' are going to be the central characters of the show. While 'John' is being played by Paul Kelly, Sarah Pidgeon has been cast as 'Carolyn.' Naomi Watts will appear as 'John’s' mother, 'Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.' There is also Grace Gummer, portraying 'John’s' sister, 'Caroline Kennedy.' Among the lead cast members, Leila George and Noah Fearnley will play 'Kelly Klein' and 'Michael Bergin.'

Coming to the supporting cast, Love Story will feature Alessandro Nivola as 'Calvin Klein.' Erich Bergen and Michael Nathanson have been cast as 'Anthony Radziwill' and 'Michael Berman.' Others who would appear in the show include Sydney Lemmon, Omari K. Chancellor, Constance Zimmer, and Dree Hemingway. The majority of the episodes have been written by Connor Hines along with D.V. DeVincentis, Kim Rosenstock, and Juli Weiner.
