More and more men are becoming conscious about looking their best for their wedding. From exercise to diet to skin and hair care, men do it all. The good news is there are plenty of desi options to help the Indian groom look and feel fit and perfect.

Yoga

Most men head to the gym and opt for weight training. Try to include a few yoga asanas as well into your routine. It will help relax your muscles, and aligns and strengthens your body. Combined with pranayama (breathing exercises) it improves your state of mind too. You will feel more positive and relaxed. If you think yoga is more suited to women, think again. Men in competitive sports swear by yoga combined with other exercises.

The Windmill and Crow Squats are supposed to improve your performance in bed. Wind up with the Corpse pose, which may sound simple but is extremely beneficial.

Diet

Ayurveda is all about holistic well-being and is tailored to the type of person you are. There are three types: vata, pitta and kapha. Consult an ayurvedic practitioner to identify your type and take the recommended diet.

To increase your sexual potency, include figs, garlic and onions. Almonds, rice, ghee and a sattvic diet are good if you want to start trying for a baby. For good skin, eat carrots and citrus fruits. Nutmegs lower blood pressure while pistachios help keep heart disease at bay. You need a lot of energy during the days leading to your wedding and the best way to get a good dose of energy is by eating bananas.

Massage

Go to an ayurvedic massage center for a full body and head massage. Make sure you schedule an appointment once every week until your wedding day. A good massage helps loosen up your body. You feel relaxed as all the tension is kneaded away. Your skin will look clear and will glow. It also helps your body look toned. Castor oil and sesame oil are commonly used but if you find out your body type, you can use the oils that suit you best.

Most ayurvedic massages are followed by a scrub usually made with gram flour or chickpea and turmeric. This is again good for you skin as it strips away all the dead cells on your skin’s surface.

Start atleast a month before the d-day. You can actually chart a plan with your woman and the two of you can maybe work out together. Within no time, you will look fantastic and you and your bride will make a radiant couple.
