The first Indian female wrestler to compete at the Olympic Games and bring home gold, Geeta Phogat, and her husband, Pawan Saroha had embraced parenthood in December 2019. It was on December 24, 2019, when Geeta and Pawan had welcomed their baby boy, Arjun Saroha. Since the little one’s birth, Geeta and Pawan have been posting glimpses of their parenthood phase and how they are making the most of their time with Arjun.
On August 15, 2020, the entire nation celebrated the 74th Independence Day. Wrestler, Geeta Phogat enjoyed the patriotic day with her hubby, Pawan Kumar Saroha, and son, Arjun Saroha. Geeta took to her IG handle and shared a perfect twinning picture with son, Arjun. In the picture, Geeta and Arjun twinned in white and posed for the camera with the national flag in their hands. Along with the picture, Geeta wrote, “Saare jahaan se acha, Hindustan hamara. Jai Hind Jai Bharat.” Her hubby, Pawan Saroha also shared adorable pictures with Geeta and Arjun on his social media handle and wrote a caption in Hindi, “Kuch nasha tirange ki aan ka hai, kuch nasha mathrbhumi ki shaan ka hai, hum lehraayenge har jagah ye tiranga, nasha ye Hindustan ki shaan ka hai. #HappyIndependenceDay.”
It was on January 17, 2020, when Geeta Phogat had posted a picture, cuddling her newborn baby boy and their photo exuded maa ki mamta. Revealing the name of their newborn baby boy, Geeta had written, "I can't even begin to explain just how excited we are for our new baby... We are so, so, so blessed as a family, and I'm speechless at the fact that we had the opportunity to bring a bundle of joy into the world. The love I already have for him is indescribable." Geeta Phogat had resumed her workout and fitness regime when her son, Arjun Saroha had turned four-month-old but had to pause it. Revealing the reason, Geeta had shared in an interview with the Hindustan Times, “Pregnancy ke baad I have gained 25 kg weight. Main ek athlete hun aur mai fit body mein confident mehsoos karti hun. Is body main aisa nahi hai ki mujhe achha nahi lag raha, lekin main chahti hun ki main apni fitness barkarar rakhoon... So recently, when Arjun turned four and a half month, I resumed my workout. Usi time maine dekha ki Arjun ache se feed nahi le paa raha tha. Toh humare physiotherapist ne salah di ki abhi heavy exercises mat karo jab tak bachha breastfeed le raha hai. That’s why I had to pause my exercise regimen because right now my kid is very small and uski health meri health se zyaada important hai!”
While Geeta Phogat had taken a break from her career to take care of her baby, her husband, Pawan Kumar Saroha had made everyone proud by winning a gold medal in National Championship in November 2019. And it was his proud wife, Geeta, who had taken to her IG handle to congratulate her ‘dear husband’.
