Meet Gavin Newsom's current wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom
Jennifer Siebel Newsom was born on June 19, 1974, in San Francisco to parents Ken and Judy. She had four sisters, Stacey, Melissa, Jessica, and Brooke. However, their life was not always sunshine and rainbows, as her older sister, Stacey, passed away during a golf cart accident during a family vacation in Hawaii. The tragedy took place in front of Siebel's own eyes, leaving her with extreme guilt and self-blame for years.
Growing up, she attended the Branson School, where she was even elected the president of her junior class. However, she didn't just excel academically but was also a stellar varsity tennis, soccer, and basketball player. Her skills earned her a soccer scholarship at Stanford University, where she studied Latin American Studies with a minor in Human Biology. She later did her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

While she rose to academic excellence, her athletic career ended after she sustained a serious leg injury while playing for the U.S. junior national soccer team. During her growing years, she also found her passion for global services, having her eyes opened at the age of 12 about global inequality during a trip to Kenya and Tanzania. This greatly shaped her career's trajectory.

Jennifer Siebel Newsom eventually joined Conservation International, an environmental nonprofit working across Washington, D.C., Latin America, Africa, and Europe. During her tenure, she helped women develop a stable income with their own environmentally sustainable businesses. She even worked with governments in South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana on conservation and wildlife projects, giving years of her life, enriching others.
However, it was during Jennifer's enrollment at Stanford Graduate School of Business for an MBA that she found another passion. Jennifer Siebel Newsom began taking acting classes at the American Conservatory Theater to improve public speaking.
Soon, she found herself diving deep into the entertainment world, working both on-screen and behind the scenes. She started with small TV roles and eventually transitioned to direction, production, and writing. Some of her famous works as a producer include The Great American Lie, The Hunting Ground, On The Record, and The Invisible War.

In 2017, Jennifer Siebel Newsom came forward as an alleged victim of Harvey Weinstein in an essay for HuffPost. She even testified in court against Weinstein, where he faced 11 counts of sexual assault. According to ABC News, she recounted her abuse and said:
"I was so violated, and I don't know how that happened. I didn't see the clues, and I didn't know how to escape."
How did Jennifer Siebel Newsom meet Gavin Newsom?
Jennifer Siebel Newsom met Gavin Newsom in October 2006 when they were set up on a blind date by their Kathy Wilsey who was their mutual friend. At the time, Siebel didn't know much about Newsom, apart from the fact that he was the mayor of San Francisco. According to SFGate, on their first date, the couple attended the annual Artists Ball at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
However, once again their blooming romance was met with a media social storm. Days after their first date, Gavin Newsom made headlines for being romantically linked to a 20-year-old woman. He had reportedly been seen with the woman, who was more than 15 years his junior. Reflecting on the same, Jennifer Siebel Newsom said:
"He told me, 'You're not going to want to talk to me after tomorrow. There's a thing in the paper coming out about my 20-year-old girlfriend and me. I never dated her.' The whole first month we were dating, everyone thought I was her and were saying, 'We need to card you.' You just have to have a sense of humor about those things."

Jennifer Siebel Newsom decided to stick by Gavin Newsom's side despite the buzz and later even became his support when the news surfaced that he had previously had an affair with his appointment secretary, Ruby Rippey-Tourk.
