Gautami Kapoor Apologises To Shreya Kalra After Her Husband, Ram Kapoor Kissed Her Without Consent

For the unversed, a few days ago, Shreya Kalra expressed her discomfort with Ram Kapoor as she stated that he kept kissing her without her consent. Later, the next day, Gautami Kapoor defended Ram Kapoor and called him a man with all hearts. She received a lot of backlash. Now, in the latest episode, Gautami entered the reality show and folded her hands in front of Shreya and apologised to her.
However, the words Gautami used were extremely troubling as she defended her husband and said that please forgive her for her husband's behaviour who kissed her and spat near her. She added that Ram is like that and he is like a teddy bear. She said:
"Mataji, agar koi galti ho gayi ho toh maaf kar dena. Agar inhone apko galat touch kiya hai, thooka hai aapke… toh main inke taraf se maafi maangti hoon. If I hug you, you are not going to say anything, right? To all the women, if Ram has made you uncomfortable, then I apologize on his behalf. He is like that only; I am not defending him. He is just like a teddy bear."
However, Shreya smiled and stated that it was okay, but she looked uncomfortable. But it seems like the internet felt extremely disgusted with the way Gautami decided to address the whole matter. One user on X wrote, "It's completely shameful the way Gautami Kapoor defended Ram Kapoor's behaviourof kissing women repeatedly. She should think twice before defending such behavior. Ram Kapoor's behaviouris simply unacceptable."
Another user penned, "Ram Kapoor ki Gautami ko to puri country se maafi mangni chahiye. It was so eww to watch him kissing and hugging everyone every time." A third user wrote, "Gautami Kapoor is vile. Imagine threatening a girl sarcastically onscreen because she expressed she felt uncomfortable with invasive touch and kisses. God knows what they must be doing offscreen."
A fourth netizen penned, "Gautami is very gorgeous but again only a bird brain can stay with a man like Ram Kapoor and she proved it with how she behaved with Shreya

Gautami Kapoor broke her silence on people judging Ram Kapoor for kissing Shreya Kalra unnecessarily
On July 20, 2026, Gautami Kapoor slammed people passing mean remarks on Ram Kapoor and Shreya Kalra. The actress shared that she initially thought of not passing any remark on the show and people's dynamics. But she couldn't hold herself back as people started targeting Ram Kapoor.
Gautami rejected all the labels people are calling Ram, said that one should hold the judgments, that these are edited episodes, and how he has a lot of love in his heart. She added that Ram went on the reality show without any strategy. She said:
"I had initially chosen not to comment on the show Lock Upp, but I believe the last 2-3 days are preventing me from staying quiet. I arrived here today to address you on my husband's behalf. Many individuals are making judgments and remarks, claiming that he's a creep, he's a tharki, he's an elderly man with personal interests. Let me explain to you all that this is how Ram is."
