The story revolves around 'Hayat', a college graduate who crosses paths with multi-billionaire, 'Murat'. The duo develop a love-hate relationship, and the plot thickens when the pair is forced to work together, and ‘Hayat’ further fakes her identity. This is perfect for beginners of Turkish dramas as it has an immaculate amount of romance and comedy.

#2. You Knock On My Door

The fake-dating trope is one of the most loved genres in books. Now imagine the same on-screen. You Knock On My Door is one of the finest Turkish dramas, which has the perfect blend of banter, romance, comedy, and so much more. The story follows a bright university student ‘Eda’ whose scholarship gets cancelled by ‘Serkan’, a business mogul. In the turn of events, the duo is forced to be in a fake engagement, where ‘Serkan’ is trying to make his ex-girlfriend regret dumping him.

#3. Endless Love

This is a tear-jerking watch with lots of overflowing emotions. The story revolves around ‘Kemal’ and 'Nihaan', who hail from different social classes. The two fall in love, however, their class difference forces them to be apart. The story takes an emotional turn when ‘Nihaan’ is forced to marry someone else, and a baby enters the couple's life.

This is one of the most famous crime series in Turkey. The story follows the life of a retired commissionaire ‘Cevdet’ and his family. They reside peacefully in a rural farm, however, one day, their lives turn upside down when their son arrives with terrible news for the family. This is a gripping murder mystery where horrific secrets are extracted from the grounds of the seemingly peaceful farm.

#5. Earlybird or Daydreamer 

This is the most popular drama in Turkey and can potentially entertain masses. The show is available on different platforms, either as Earlybird or Daydreamer. The plot follows a young photographer, ‘Can Divit’, who returns to his hometown to save his family’s demolishing advertising firm. In the process, he befriends ‘Sanem’, an aspirant writer and a worker in his family’s firm. 

#6. Mr Wrong

Mr Wrong is your typical sunshine rom-com where the main female protagonist, ‘Ezgi’, is fed up with dating the wrong guys and is determined to find her Mr Right. On the way, she meets a sloppy but wealthy restauranteur, ‘Ozgur’, who takes it upon himself to help ‘Ezgi’ to find her love. Coincidently the two also become neighbours, who constantly crash into one another. 

#7. Feriha

This drama was the first Turkish show that was telecasted on Indian National TV. So, it’s safe to say that it is quite popular in India. The show follows the life of ‘Feriha’, an underprivileged but bright student who goes to university on scholarship. ‘Feriha’ there pretends to be a rich kid and hides her actual identity. She gradually falls in love with 'Emir', her fellow university student. However, he is still unaware of her reality. Watch the show to see all the drama unfold as the truth emerges. 

#8. 1001 Nights

This drama revolves around a mother, ‘Binbir Gece,’ trying to collect funds for her son, who has cancer. She then receives an offer from her boss that can solve all her financial worries. The show is incredibly popular in Turkey, so much so that it got adapted as an Indian daily soap, Katha Ankahee. The drama is also shot in a way that reminds the viewers of Arabian Nights.
