Freddie Mercury Fathered A Daughter After Affair With Close Friend's Wife, Secret Child Died At 48

Famous Rock legend, Freddie Mercury, is in the headlines again, after his secret daughter died at the age of 48. Freddie Mercury, who never got married or had a legal wife or partner, once had a brief affair in 1976, and he had a secret daughter out of the union. Freddie Mercury had an affair with his close friend's wife

It was in 1976 when Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury, had an affair with the wife of his close friend. However, the relationship was closely guarded because of the controversy it could have sparked back in those days. However, Freddie's parents, sister, and bandmates knew about the affair. 

Freddie's secret daughter revealed her identity in a book after his death in 1991

After Freddie Mercury died of pneumonia caused by Aids in 1991, his daughter shared her identity. He was just 45 years old when he passed away. His daughter, whom Freddie referred to as 'B', has shared her identity with the world in the book, Love, Freddie, written by Lesley-Ann. Before his passing away, Freddie had given 17 of his journals to his daughter.

Freddie Mercury's daughter's handwritten letter talked about her relationship with her father

The book also had a handwritten letter from Freddie's daughter, where she talks about how the rock star was her father. In the letter, she wrote how they shared a close and loving relationship with her from the moment she was born and throughout the final 15 years of his life with her. The letter can be read as:

"Freddie Mercury was and is my father. We had a very close and loving relationship from the moment I was born and throughout the final 15 years of his life."

Freddie's daughter talked about circumstances of her birth

Freddie's daughter revealed that her father adored her, and despite the circumstances of her birth could be outrageous for most people. He never stopped loving and looking after her. He treasured her. After more than three decades of lies and speculations, she wants to tell the world about her life. She wrote:

"He adored me and was devoted to me. The circumstances of my birth may seem, by most people's standards, unusual and even outrageous. That should come as no surprise. It never detracted from his commitment to love and look after me. He cherished me like a treasured possession. After more than three decades of lies, speculation and distortion, it is time to let Freddie speak. Those who have been aware of my existence kept his greatest secret out of loyalty to Freddie. That I choose to reveal myself in my own midlife is my decision and mine alone."

All about Freddie's affair with his close freind's wife

Freddie's daughter lived in Europe till her last breath. She worked as a medical professional. The author who wrote Freddie's biography, revealed in an interview with Daily Mail, that 'B' was accidentally conceived with the wife of one of his closest friends. His friend was away on an extended business trip when Freddie lost his control and had an affair wit his wife. For the Roman Cathloic mother, abortion is not allowed. She said:

"His only child was conceived accidentally with the wife of one of his closest friends, while his friend was away on an extended business trip. For the Roman Catholic mother, abortion was out of the question."

Later, Freddie and the woman he had an affair with agreed that his secret daughter would be reasied by her mother and her mother's husband. On the other hand, Freddie Mercury would have a room in their house, so that he could remain in touch with his secret daughter.

Freddie Mercury's secret daughter died at 48 after battling cancer

On January 15, 2026, Freddie Mercury's secret daughter passed away at the age of 48. The woman known as 'B' suffered with a rare cancer. Her husband, Thomas told Daily Mail, that his wife died peacefully after a long battle with chordoma, which is a rare spinal cancer, leaving their two sons aged nine and seven. 

For the unversed, Freddie Mercury was a loving father to his secret daughter, B, till the time he passed away in 1991.
