Mrs Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is now officially married to the love of her life, Anand Ahuja and her wedding is the talk of the town is streaming on the internet like crazy. Sonam and Anad were pronounced wife and husband in the traditional Anand Karaj wedding ceremony on May 8, 2018. The Anand Karaj took place at Sonam’s aunt’s Mumbai heritage mansion, Rockdale, at Bandra’s Bandstand. As soon as Sonam’s bridal look came up, netizens couldn’t help but gush over her over and over again. With some amazing traditional ensembles, Sonam has been giving all of us some major bridal goals. After Anushka Sharma’s bridal look made all girls dream of her bridal lehenga just like hers, Sonam’s wedding has made us wish for a series of functions at our own marriage with so much masti and dhamaka with friends and family.
While Sonam Kapoor looked like a dream in an ornate red and gold Anuradha Vakil lehenga for her wedding, for her reception she opted for a grey and white coloured lehenga with a full sleeved blouse. And Anand opted for a black bandhgala white white churidaar.
Though Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding was the talk of the town since the beginning of this year, but only after the joint statement released by the Kapoors and the Ahujas, the excitement level reached its peak. They confirmed the wedding and stated, “The Kapoor and Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam and Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family's need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives." After the wedding reception, Sonam will immediately get back to her professional commitments which will indeed postpone the honeymoon for the couple. Sonam will head off to French Riviera on May 14, 2018, to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival but her hubby won’t accompany her. A source close to the couple was quoted as saying, “Anand won’t be at Cannes with her, but the couple is planning an October-November honeymoon which will be delayed because of the bride-to-be’s choc-o-block schedule.”
Post their mehendi ceremony on May 7, 2018, Sonam and Anand presented their guests with a lovely thank you note which said, "It's a great joy to love & be loved! Dear Family and Friends, we are delighted to have you here as an integral part of our wedding celebration. We are blessed to have each of you in our lives and feel honoured that you have travelled miles to be with us! We hope you your stay and make memories of a lifetime... Love & Luck, Ahuja & Kapoor Families."
