After facing days of intense trolling due to allegations of promoting misogyny through his new track Fine Shyt, Guru Randhawa broke his silence about the same. Not just him, a dancer named Arshia Sinha, who featured in the song, also rallied in defence. According to Guru Randhawa, he intended to make a fun song with chill lyrics. He claimed his song is immensely catchy, something that will stay in listeners' minds forever.
Guru shared that Fine Shyt has "no bad vibes", just a "silly little slang" to add spice to the track. He asked the critics to calm down, not focus too much on the lyrics and just enjoy the vibe. Taking to his Instagram handle, Guru Randhawa wrote:
"Guilty as charged of making songs that repeat in your head forever. Low-key loving the edits though. No bad vibes! It's just a silly little slang… calm down calm down calm down fam."
As Guru Randhawa came under fire for the lyrics of Fine Shyt, the dancers and influencers featured in the song also faced flak. Regardless, all the artists have been actively involved in promoting the song in their Instagram Stories and posts. Recently, one of them, Arshia Sinha, faced online trolling for saying yes to the project with Guru Randhawa. A fan commented on Arshia's post stating, "Imagine collaborating with Guru Randhawa, what a downfall."
The dancer gave a befitting reply to the fan. Arshia wrote, "if working with Guru Randhawa is considered a 'downfall' then I'll happily choose this downfall again." Her comment sparked mixed responses. Some praised her for standing her ground and owning her work, while a few others mocked her for supporting an alleged crappy song.

Exactly a year before the Fine Shyt controversy, Guru Randhawa came under fire for allegedly sexualising minors through the song Azul. The music video featured a photography teacher (played by the singer himself), who was tasked with taking photos of some school students. However, the controversial part lies in the fact that he looked captivated by one of the students (played by Anshika Pandey).
The actress was shown in a school uniform and performed a dance sequence, while the photographer filmed her legs, making viewers uncomfortable. Critics argued that even though the actress is an adult, her depiction as a school student in the MV promotes predatory behaviour. Hitting back, the singer shared a screenshot of the song's streaming analytics, which showed it trending with high viewership.
Along with the post, Guru also shared a message, expressing his gratitude to God for his success. Many saw the message as the singer's way of responding to the backlash by focusing on the song's performance rather than directly addressing the criticism. The story's caption can be read as:
"AZUL IS AZULING. When GOD is with you, you only move forward."
A day later, Guru Randhawa shared another similar Instagram story, which included his decision to prioritise his happiness over pleasing others. The Punjabi message can be read as:
"Jado mein sab nu khush karn lagga Dukhi ho gya. Ajj mein khud khush haan Sab dukhi ho gaye GOD."
