Aamir Khan and Fatima Sana Shaikh left everyone mesmerised with their acting prowess in the movie, Dangal. And it's been a long time since the actors have been speculated to be dating each other. However, Aamir and Fatima never opened up about the same or accepted being in a relationship. It was Fatima, who once slammed such rumours. And now, in a recent interview, Fatima revealed whether she was affected by such rumours or the slut-shaming that she had to go through.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Fatima Sana Shaikh was asked about how she deals with all the speculations and media reports. To this, the actress shared that she has been taking therapy, so it doesn't really bother her. Talking more about the same, Fatima mentioned that it is all about the people who spread the rumours as it excites their ego. Elaborating more on the same, Fatima said:
"It does not affect me because I am taking therapy. It’s not about me, it’s about them and it excites them. It satisfies their need of having something to talk about. Sometimes when you put other people down, your ego gets triggered. So they are trying to massage their own ego.”

Fatima Sana Shaikh has been hitting the headlines with her alleged relationship with Aamir Khan, which made her become the target of slut-shaming. However, in the interview, Fatima was asked if the negative remarks had affected her in any way. To this, Fatima mentioned that it actually hurts when somebody slut-shames her or uses derogatory terms. The actress stated:
"Of course it hurts. When somebody slut-shames you or when they call you names, it hurts. But at a point when it happens on social media and there is no name, there is no face. So I disassociate myself. And then I am like ke tu mere hi profile me aake tu mujhe hi gaali dega, so I block them. Meri zindagi hai mai decide karungi, mera page hai mai decide karungi."
In the same interview, Fatima Sana Shaikh revealed how she has been dealing with all the negative remarks that she receives. To this, the actress mentioned that she has been creating her own space and choosing what she wants around her. Fatima further revealed that she can control what she sees and she would like to blind herself. Speaking along the same lines, Fatima shared:
"I am choosing what I want around me. I am creating that safe space. Because I cannot control what comes here and there and on newspapers. But I can control what I see and I would like to blind myself. There is so much happening in this world. The last thing that I want to deal with is this man telling me ‘oh you are this person, you should do this and that.”
For those who don't know, Aamir Khan has been speculated to be in a relationship with Fatima Sana Shaikh for a few years. The duo worked together in Thugs of Hindostan and Dangal. So far as it is known, the duo is in a cordial relationship where Fatima considers Aamir as her mentor, and the latter respects the former as a professional. However, Fatima also shares a close bond with Aamir Khan's family.

In 2018, Fatima Sana Shaikh opened up about her relationship rumours with Aamir Khan. The actress, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, said that she doesn't want to explain such rumours as people would talk about it anyway.
