Some celebs lead a blissful life forever, some part ways, but their journey from strangers to soulmates has been an inspiration. One such couple of Lollywood is singer cum actor, Farhan Saeed and actress, Urwa Hocane. Let us explore Farhan and Urwa’s love story.
Pakistan’s heartthrob, Farhan Saeed was born Farhan Saeed Butt and began his career as a former lead vocalist of the Pakistani band, Jal. He was just 17 when he joined the Lahore-based pop rock band, Jal as a vocalist. In 2011, Farhan left the Jal band to begin his solo career in singing.

In 2014, Farhan began his acting career with the Pakistani drama, De Ijazat Jo Tu. However, he got wide recognition with the show, Udaari, in which he starred alongside Urwa Hocane. Farhan made his film debut in 2022 with the movie, Tich Button.
On the other hand, Urwa Hocane started her career as a model and made her acting debut with the Pakistani drama, Khushboo Ka Ghar in 2012. Urwa garnered a lot of attention for her role as ‘Meera’ in Udaari and ‘Guddi’ in Mushk. In 2014, Urwa made her film debut with the romantic comedy, Na Maloom Afraad. In 2019, Urwa announced her first film, Tich Button, as a producer.
Talking about Farhan Saeed and Urwa Hocane’s first meeting, the duo met through a common friend at a get-together in Lahore. The two got along really well and became good friends. Talking about their first meeting, Urwa once said:
“It will forever be one of the most unforgettable and beautiful days of my life.”
Farhan Saeed is very romantic at heart. After the initial friendship, love blossomed between Farhan and Urwa, and the two began dating. The handsome actor chose the most romantic place to propose to Urwa. It was at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, where Farhan popped the million-dollar question to Urwa. In an interview with BBC Urdu, Urwa talked about the dreamy proposal and said:
“I'm a romantic at heart. I remember the time Farhan proposed to me and how it came as a shock, and how the first thought I had was surrounding my wardrobe. I'm someone who hates surprises, and this was the biggest one. But thankfully, I was wearing decent clothes.”

When Farhan proposed to Urwa, she instantly said yes. She also shared that her sister, Mawra Hocane was a part of Farhan’s proposal plan, and she hid it from her. Talking about her response to Farhan's proposal, Urwa said that it took her just three seconds to say yes as she was head-over-heels in love with him. She also revealed that she got mad at her sister, Mawra, for not telling her about the surprise. But the doting sister, Mawra made sure to dress up Urwa for the special day, without she getting the slightest hint.
After a fairytale proposal, Farhan and Urwa got married in 2016 in an intimate ceremony at Bashahi mosque. Their wedding was a grand affair and included three dholkis, a nikah ceremony, a qawwali night and a star-studded reception.
Farhan and Urwa’s wedding was heavily criticised by many for being overly glamorous. In the same interview with BBC Urdu, Urwa talked about the criticism over her wedding and said:
“I think it was my divine right as a bride to dress to my liking, and it was just for me. It was all possible because of all the hard work Farhan and I do. We have earned through hard work and compassion, so it's only fair we get to choose how to spend it.”
Many people also claimed that Farhan and Urwa’s wedding was a publicity stunt. Reacting to the same, Urwa said that their focus was just to enjoy each moment of their wedding. In her words:
“Everyone nowadays owns either a camera or a smartphone, so obviously you can't stop anyone from capturing everything and it also would have been really rude to not let them. Therefore, we decided to allow everyone to take pictures, make videos while we just enjoyed our moments.”
Farhan and Urwa never hid their relationship from their fans and were quite open that they were dating one another. She often stated how blessed she feels to have Farhan as her husband. Urwa Hocane got married to Farhan when she was just 25. Revealing the reason behind marrying so early, Urwa shared that she had never planned anything in life and getting married was a spontaneous decision.

Urwa and Farhan made their fans believe in fairytale love and romance. Urwa, who calls herself a hopeless romantic shared that she falls in love with Farhan every day. Sharing her thoughts on the same, she said:
“I fall in love with Farhan every single day. I'm a hopeless romantic. You can easily spot this trait of mine in any movie that I do. Both of us think, act very maturely. The things that people usually worry about won't even matter down the road. What will matter is the kind of family, friends and people you have earned along the years and how happy you are.”
In 2020, there were reports about Farhan and Urwa’s marriage hitting rock bottom. Many reports have stated that the couple had parted ways. However, during the promotion of the film, Tich Button in 2022, Farhan reacted to the speculations and stated that there were no issues.
The handsome actor also stated that he and Urwa have decided to keep their personal life away from public glares. Revealing how people’s comments could be hurtful sometimes, Farhan shared:
“Urwa and I have decided that we will not make our life very public. The masses just have so much to say about everything and some of their comments can be hurtful. We just want to keep some parts of our lives to ourselves.”
On Eid 2023, Urwa and Farhan posted a series of romantic pictures together and shut all the rumours of their separation. Dressed in a pastel pink outfit with intricate but heavy silver embellishments, Urwa looked stunning. Farhan, on the other hand, looked dapper in a white textured salwar kameez and black sunnies. Their drool-worthy pictures together came as a relief to their fans.
From a dreamy proposal to a star-studded wedding, Farhan and Urwa’s love for each other is truly an inspiration to everyone.
